Peggy Mount stars in this British comedy based on Falkland L. Carys hit stage play. Young sailor Albert Tufnell (Ronald Lewis) is all set to wed his sweetheart Shirley Hornett (Shirley Eaton), but has a change of heart after meeting her battleaxe of a mother, Emma (Mount). When he and best man Carnoustie (Gordon Jackson) stay with the Hornetts on the eve of the wedding, Albert begins to think twice about his desire for family life.
