This short interview of Professor James Anderson explains climate change in terms of structures. Outstanding questions from the unidentified student. Global mean temperature is the worst way to understand what is happening, he explains why.
Anderson provides some straight talk, understandable by a general audience. He explains the climate structures that control weather and filter out UV radiation as coupled to a dry stratosphere and the temperature difference between the Equator and the Poles. I is that that drives the overturning structure in the Troposphere to effect the Jet Stream.
Wide ranging interview that encompasses science, extreme weather, politics and economics as they relate to the present crisis. The is no political imperative to describing what is happening as global warming he says. Universities have failed in there obligation to fully educate citizens.
At about 18:00 "a question of political will and fundamental intelligence". "everything is wrong with burning fossil fuel, everything is correct with converting photons to electricity....Nature set this whole system up ideally.... are we smart enough to figure this out?"
He offers solutions if we assemble the political will to act.

Anderson was involved in identifying the process of atmospheric ozone depletion in the polar region during the winter as caused by the presence of chlorine and bromine molecules present in the stratosphere due to industrial use of halogens.
His current research identifies that conditions are present for the same reactions to occur over continental United States, but during the summer, due to extreme thunder storms injecting moisture into the stratosphere.
