Since 1993, hundreds of women have disappeared in the north-eastern Mexican state of Chihuahua. Some have been found and showed signs of torture, sexual abuse or the corpses were beyond recognition. The killings continue.

The case of the women from Chihuahua is now picking up steam due to a letter sent by 32 members of the US Legislature in which they expressed concern about the killings and request federal intervention.
The Spanish Socialist Workers Party has also made some headlines after they asked their country's Congress to assist their Mexican counter-parts in solving the murder cases.
