The first hour we heard from Barbara Mike, president of the Santa Cruz Indian Council discuss the upcoming June 30th community pow wow at the Loudon Nelson Center. She spoke about the the educational and cultural nature of the event, and the drums and dancers that will be participating. In the second we heard Ann Marie Sayers, author, activist and tribal chairperson of Coastonoan Ohlone Indian Canyon. She spoke about the upcoming 16th annual story telling festival and indigenous gathering in Hollister on Saturday, June 30th. There will be numerous and well known story tellers, dancers, musicians and artists sharing their words and dances of wisdom, history and reading. She also discussed the sacredness of the land and water.
