Your support is essential if the service is to continue, there are bandwidth bills to pay every month and failing disk drives to replace. Does Sex Addiction catch your attention, spark your imagination or stir your libido? Radio Curious visits with Dr. David Ley, author of âThe Myth of Sex Addiction.â In the first of a two-part conversation, David Ley argues that âsex addictionâ is a fraudulent concept.Â
Barry Vogel, Attorney and Counselor is the Host and Producer of Radio Curious. Christina Aanestad is the Assistant Producer.
Most people are familiar with sex. Some like it. Some like it a lot and seek to engage in sex more than others. Some people are inclined to think that the desire for âtoo much sex,â however much that may be, is due to a mental disorder.  In this edition of Radio Curious we visit with David J. Ley, Ph.D. the author of âThe Myth of Sex Addiction.â  In this first of two conversations with Dr. Ley, the argument that âsex addictionâ is a fraudulent concept is presented. In part two we discuss the evolutionary development of human sexuality and the many cultural approaches to sexual expression.  We spoke by phone from his office in Albuquerque, New Mexico on August 6, 2012, and began Part one when I asked him explain why he characterizes âsex addictionâ as a fraud, not as disorder.  The books he recommend are âNymphomania: A History,â by Carol Groneman, and âIs There Anything Good About Men?: How Cultures Flourish By Exploiting Men.â
