In the first hour, Julia Lonegran, "The Haunting of Mission Santa Cruz, Mexico, 1708 to 1876", spoke about the Mexican history of California. She discussed the abrupt murders of the Mexican-Spanish families of the pensilulares that governed California from 1848-1876.

In the second hour, Ethel Long Scott, Executive Director of The Women's Economic Agenda Project, spoke about health care as a right. She spoke about health justice, the reasons why a for profit, market driven health care system cannot work and the importance of creating a new social contract.
