Lyn Gerry is the guest on radiohouston. These segments are the most comprehensive and articulate analyses of the struggle to Take Back Pacifica that can presently be found in radio with audio.
Producer: radio4houston Uploaded by: scooterLoad
Lyn Gerry joins radio4houston aka UStheFOLKs Cancelled RadioShow aka Otis Hardy Maclay and Scooter on the weekly internet outcast dedicated to the principles of Pacifica's Blab Rule, borrowed from Atlantica. Scooter and Otis were among the first 50 or so drawn to a LISTSERVER that Lyn began around '95 dedicated to resisting what she saw as a clear and present danger in the activities of Pacifica Directors and management. The founding principles had been abandoned or betrayed, programmers were being fired in waves and the most productive and conscientious workers, who maintained the skeleton bureaucracy were fired without cause, the most competent first. Scooter and Otis wrote behind pseudopnyms while carrying on with community affairs programming at KPFT, while Lyn endured slings, arrows and lofty dismissals as an embittered ex-theorist fired conspiracy disgruntle nut crazed with revenge and destructive powerLust.
This is some years later, I suppose a few people told lyn, "hey, I guess you were right after all". She hasn't said "I told you so" and this discussion is our answer to those who might say, "The Crisis that Started with the Firing of Nicole Sowaya" or or "the disaster that began with the Xmas coup".
Listen to this, and you'll never have to make things up again to sound intelligent wherever Pacifica is discussed.
