Joshua is currently on the west coast of Canada with his wife and four children and is seeking asylum here. His upcoming court testimony could prove to be extremely important as he will be the first to testify about war crimes committed in Iraq by the US army. This is important to other soldiers seeking asylum also because up until now the question of the war's legality (as a defence) has not been permitted in court, leaving only the option of talking about war crimes - no other soldier up before the court thus far has been to war, and thus haven't been witness to war crimes - until now.
