UK borrowing costs soar with highest rate for 27 years. Fresh woes for pound and long-term borrowing costs after US data – There’s more bad news for the chancellor to digest on her trade mission to China as financial market moves continue to weigh on her stewardship of the economy. James Sillars The pound has come under renewed pressure at the end of a torrid week for the UK currency, falling to fresh 14-month lows against the dollar. Sterling lost almost a cent, to stand just above $1.22 at one stage, on the back of higher support for the greenback after US employment data came in much stronger than expected. It was seen as denting the prospects for US central bank rate cuts this year – a scenario that tends to be supportive of a domestic currency. That has not been the case for the UK, however, which is also seeing the prospects for rate cuts this year slip away. The pound is on course to have lost more than 2% this week on the back of a growing crisis of confidence in the country’s economic prospects and the state of the public finances under Chancellor Rachel Reeves. Financial markets now expect to see just one rate reduction by the Bank of England this year due to stubbornly high inflation and flatlining growth. The main worry is that the UK is facing a slew of higher prices as businesses have warned they will pass on budget tax hikes from April at a time when a raft of other bills are also due to shoot up. Corporate lobby groups have declared that firms will also cut investment, jobs and the pace of wage rises to help offset the higher costs from measures such as elevated employer national insurance contributions. Water and council tax bills are also on course to rise by more than the rate of inflation. And energy bills are set to rise further amid high demand for gas and weak storage levels Europe-wide. A further market move on Friday represented more headwinds ahead. The strong US economic data was partly credited for a 4% lift in Brent crude oil prices to $80 a barrel. Rising oil and gas prices are also inflationary as higher costs are usually reflected at fuel pumps and within supply chains within weeks of wholesale price shifts. Ms Reeves is facing a particular headache from increases in the risk premiums demanded by investors to hold UK government debt in the form of bonds – known as gilts. Yields, the effective interest rate, on 30-year gilts have risen to levels not seen since 1998 this week – while other shorter-term bonds also saw spikes. The 30-year yield stood beyond 5.4% on Friday afternoon, up more than six basis points on the day. A higher cost to service government debt means there is less money for Ms Reeves to spend on other commitments. The chancellor resisted Conservative and Lib Dem calls to cancel a trade trip to China this weekend and is widely expected to signal that spending cuts are coming to ensure she keeps within her fiscal rules.

First we hear from David Lammy ‘FO announcement’ on Gaza war and China. Then Hayden William Davies, a British mercenary who fought for Ukraine, on how he was a Britis Army reject on the streets in Britain, then the appalling conditions in the Ukraine army. Hundreds of hired Colombians are fighting on the side of Kiev — said the British prisoner The British mercenary Hayden William Davis, captured in Donbass, said that Italians, Germans, Americans, and the British are fighting on the side of Kiev, but most of all Colombians are “hundreds of them.” The corresponding video is available to RIA Novosti. He also told about his difficult fate: dismissal due to drugs from the British army after many years of service, difficulties with employment at home, mental health problems. Earlier, as reported by EADaily, prisoner of war Davis told how a serviceman The Russian Armed Forces saved him from death during shelling in the area of Toretsk. The corresponding video was published by the telegram channel “Solovyov Live”. Earlier, our fighters from the Center group captured a British citizen and former serviceman Hayden William Davis, who came as a mercenary to fight against the Russians. Hayden William Davis was born in Southampton, England. At the age of 16 he joined the British Army. He was kicked out of there in 2023 for abusing drugs. British mercenary Hayden William Davis, captured in Donbass, said in a video available to RIA Novosti that Italians, Germans, Americans, and the British are fighting on the side of Kiev, but most of all there are hundreds of… British mercenary Hayden William Davis, captured in Donbass, said in a video available to RIA Novosti that Italians, Germans, Americans, and the British are fighting on the side of Kiev, but most of all there are hundreds of Colombians. He also spoke about his difficult fate: being discharged from the British army due to drugs after many years of service, difficulties finding employment in his homeland, and mental health problems. The military from the “Center” captured a British mercenary who fought on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Soldiers of the Center group of forces captured a mercenary from the United Kingdom who fought on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a video with a story by a British man who called himself Hayden William Davis. The Briton was born in Southampton and joined the army in 2011 at the age of 16. “I was kicked out of the army in 2023 for smoking marijuana. I served in North Yorkshire in England in the Royal Regiment of Scotland,” said Davis. He clarified that before coming to Ukraine, he had been “on business trips” to Canada, Germany, Afghanistan and Cyprus. Earlier it was reported that the Crimean paratroopers stormed the Ukrainian Armed Forces stronghold in the Kursk region. Some of the Ukrainian soldiers surrendered. The British mercenary told about the flight from positions in Donbass LUGANSK, January 2 — RIA Novosti. Twelve mercenaries fighting for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Donbass left their positions in protest against the actions of the Ukrainian command, Hayden William Davis, a British mercenary captured in Donbass, told RIA Novosti in a video. Earlier, RIA Novosti reported that soldiers of the Center group of forces captured a British mercenary who fought on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Toretsk in the Donetsk sector of the front. “We really don’t like a command that allows war crimes to be committed. I was in position, and my job was to be at the observation post. I personally heard on the radio how someone was ordered to kill three people. I remember one of the commanders saying: “Kill them.” Somewhere in a different position. I do not know exactly where, but I am pretty sure that a woman and a teenager were killed there… For everyone who was with me at the observation post, this was the last straw. Twelve people wanted to terminate their contracts at the moment,” Davis said. He stressed that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine uses personnel “like meat.” “The command doesn’t care about you, they don’t care, they use you as meat. They say you’ll be in the position for three to five days, but they keep you there for ten days, and then they send you to another position. I flatly refused to move to another position: there is no information, we have no equipment,” Davis said. He clarified that after he left the position, he hid for two months in one of the dugouts. “The guy who was with me died because of drones and everything else. The other one escaped. I moved away to find cover, but a grenade flew at me again. But not from the Russian side, I think it was Ukrainian, thrown off a drone… so I decided to find a dugout… And I was hiding in the dugout for about two months,” Davis added. According to him, the corpses of many of his colleagues who died in battle also remain in their positions. “A great guy from South Africa is lying dead in a wooden box in the middle of Toretsk. His body was lying 50 meters from my dugout… If you come to Ukraine as a fighter of the foreign legion, I really am an exception. Here you will be destroyed… and there’s nothing good about it, and Ukraine doesn’t give a damn about you either,” he explained.

WEF Run New York city: NY new ULEZ zone. New York first US city to have road pricing tolls – Bristol and London have been guinea pigs for Blackrock, Siemens, WEF wonk Marvin Rees’ and The Merchant Venturers’ Anglo Zionist empire’s fascist road pricing toll programme, is now destroying New York too… ‘…Four hundred lanes of traffic are now covered by more than 1,400 cameras, with more than 110 detection points and more than 800 signs, he said. President-elect Donald Trump is among those resisting the scheme, but Mr Lieber said he was confident agreements with the government would “stand up to changes of administration”. The congestion zone covers an area south of Central Park, taking in such well-known sites as the Empire State Building, Times Square and the financial district around Wall Street. The scheme aims to ease New York’s notorious traffic problems and raise billions for the public transport network. New York state Governor Kathy Hochul made the case for a congestion charge two years ago, but it was delayed and revised following complaints from some commuters and businesses…’ The first congestion charge scheme for vehicles in the US has come into effect in New York City. Car drivers will pay up to $9 (£7) a day, with varying rates for other vehicles. “The system has been in operation since midnight [05:00 GMT Sunday],” Janno Lieber, CEO of the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA), told reporters. Four hundred lanes of traffic are now covered by more than 1,400 cameras, with more than 110 detection points and more than 800 signs, he said. New York state Governor Kathy Hochul made the case for a congestion charge two years ago, but it was delayed and revised following complaints from some commuters and businesses. The new plan revives one scheme that she paused in June, saying there were “too many unintended consequences for New Yorkers”. Most drivers will be charged $9 once per day to enter the congestion zone at peak hours, and $2.25 at other times. Small trucks and non-commuter buses will pay $14.40 to enter Manhattan at peak times, while larger trucks and tourist buses will pay a $21.60 fee. Hours after the scheme began traffic was moving briskly along the northern edge of the congestion zone at 60th Street and 2nd Avenue, the Associated Press reports. Many motorists seemed unaware that the newly activated cameras, set along the arm of a steel gantry above the street, would soon send a new charge to their E-Z Passes, it says. “Drivers are going to start to see the toll charges appearing on their E-Z Pass bills in a few days,” Mr Lieber said later. The charge has encountered plenty of opposition. “Are you kidding me?” New Jersey estate agent Chris Smith asked, speaking to AP. “Whose idea was this? Kathy Hochul? She should be arrested for being ignorant.” The most high-profile opposition has come from Trump, a native New Yorker who has vowed to kill the scheme when he returns to office this month. Local Republicans have already asked him to intervene. Congressman Mike Lawler, who represents a suburban district just north of New York City, asked Trump in November to commit to “ending this absurd congestion pricing cash grab once and for all”. A judge denied an 11th-hour effort on Friday by New Jersey state officials to block the scheme on grounds of its environmental impact on adjoining areas. Last year, New York City was named the world’s most-congested urban area for the second year in a row, according to INRIX, a traffic data analysis firm. Vehicles in downtown Manhattan drove at a speed of 11mph (17km/h) during peak morning periods in the first quarter of last year, the report said. Among those welcoming the new scheme was Phil Bauer, a surgeon who lives in midtown Manhattan. “I think the idea would be good to try to minimise the amount of traffic down and try to promote people to use public transportation,” he told AP.

Lord Michael Gross, British Judge, on the ‘LIES’ behind HS2. Lord Adonis started HS2, the guy who had two children with one of his young students then announced to her that he was gay. HS2 in ‘very serious situation’, boss says HS2 is in a “very serious situation” and needs a “fundamental reset”, the new boss of the company building the high-speed railway has warned. Mark Wild, chief executive of HS2 Ltd, said he is committed to ensuring the railway opens “safely and efficiently”. Earlier this month, HS2 Ltd estimated the cost of building the railway would be between £54 and £66 billion in 2019 prices – between £67 and £83 billion in current prices. But appearing before the Commons Public Accounts Committee, the Department for Transport’s top civil servant Dame Bernadette Kelly said these figures were not “reliable” and an agreed estimate was unlikely to be produced until “well into 2025”. Mr Wild, who joined HS2 Ltd at the start of December, said in a statement on Monday: “New railways provide better journeys and they boost economic growth by fuelling investment in communities and businesses. “The prize is clear. However, the programme is in a very serious situation that requires a fundamental reset to enable it to be delivered to the lowest feasible cost. “I am committed to delivering this reset over the coming year to ensure the railway can be brought into service safely and efficiently.” HS2 Ltd published an update outlining the progress in building the 140-mile line between London and the West Midlands. It said 38 of the 55 miles of twin-bore tunnels have been excavated, and 58% of engineering work to prepare the ground for the railway’s cuttings, embankments, stations and landscaping has been completed. Work has also stated on constructing 158 out of 227 viaducts and bridges. More than 31,000 people are employed on the programme, which has 350 active construction sites. Mr Wild said: “HS2 represents a significant investment in Britain’s future and in the last month I’ve been inspired by the hugely impressive feats of civil engineering taking shape right along the route.” Construction projects expected to be completed in 2025 include excavation of the 8.4-mile Northolt Tunnel in west London and both bores of the 3.5-mile Bromford Tunnel which will carry the line in and out of Birmingham.

UK military homes estate is RENATIONALISED! Guy Hands, of Terra Firma, sells 36,000 married quarters military buildings back to the government. Billionaire Guy Hands’ property firm sells military homes to MoD for £6bn – Terra Firma’s sale of 36,000 properties ends legal fight with government over recent housing reforms A property company linked to Guy Hands has agreed to sell 36,000 military homes to the UK’s Ministry of Defence for almost £6bn, signalling an end to a long-running battle between the billionaire and the government. Annington will hand over its 999-year lease on the 36,347 homes, known as the Married Quarters Estate, to the MoD and receive £5.99bn in return – almost twice as much as Hands’ private equity company Terra Firma paid for Annington more than a decade ago, but less than the £8bn the homes were valued at last year. The sale ends court proceedings brought by Annington over planned housing reforms. In September, the company took a legal fight with the UK government to the European court of human rights over fears it could lose significant sums as a result of the new Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act. It also launched a challenge in the high court on the same grounds. In 1996, under the then defence secretary, Michael Portillo, the Conservative government sold 57,400 houses used by military service men and women and their families to Annington for £1.7bn – making the company the biggest residential property owner in England and Wales. The MoD rented back the homes on a 200-year lease at a discount but also agreed to pay for their maintenance and refurbishment. Annington refurbished and sold nearly 20,000 homes. In 2012, Terra Firma bought Annington from the Japanese investment bank Nomura Holdings for £3.2bn. Hands, one of Britain’s highest-profile private equity investors, launched Terra Firma in 2002 and has since made more than £15bn in investments, including the record company EMI, Tilia Homes and Welcome Hotels. In January 2022, the MoD said it was hoping to take back full ownership of the homes through enfranchisement rules under existing leasehold legislation. The MoD said the deal brought back military housing into public hands and ended a “huge annual rental bill” to save about £230m a year. John Healey, the defence secretary, said: “There is still a lot of work to do to deliver the homes our military families deserve, and these problems will not be fixed overnight. But this is a decisive break with the failed approach of the past and a major step forward on that journey.” Ian Rylatt, the Annington chief executive, said the sale represented a new chapter for the estate and “ends a costly and distracting legal dispute, allowing everyone to move forward”. Accommodation for service personnel and their families is “shocking”, as issues with damp and mould persist, according to a report from the Commons defence committee published last week. It found that two-thirds of the homes for service families “need extensive refurbishment or rebuilding” along with a third of the homes rented by individuals. The family homes are part of the Annington portfolio, but the government is responsible for their maintenance. Last year, the Defence Infrastructure Organisation, which is responsible for maintaining and servicing military accommodation, was given £400m to tackle mould, damp and other problems. The report found that its contracts resulted in “poor contractor performance, poor quality of maintenance and repair work, and a poor lived experience for many serving personnel and their families”. The MoD will transfer 159 homes worth £55m to Annington within 12 months as part of a pre-existing agreement. Contracts were exchanged in relation to the £5.99bn sale on Monday and the deal is expected to close on 9 January. The sale proceeds will be used to pay down Annington’s debt, with another portion distributed to shareholders, including UK pension funds and sovereign wealth funds. The firm, which has 1,600 other rental properties, also plans to reinvest in the UK property market.

Fry & Groucho perverts control UK drama 1: Child Sex Abuse promoter Stephen Fry and Groucho club at the heart of the rot in UK TV film theatre drama rot – Fry and Groucho behind most UK drama/entertainment and many factual commissions Rape at Groucho Club, London. Man arrested on suspicion of rape at London’s Groucho Club Arrest follows closure of private members club after police raised concerns venue breached licensing conditions A man has been arrested on suspicion of rape in The Groucho Club, the private club in central London that counts many in the media, arts and advertising among its members. The Groucho Club was forced to shut this week after its licence was suspended by Westminster City Council, sparking widespread rumours about the reasons behind the sudden closure. On Sunday, the Metropolitan Police said its officers had arrested a man as part of an investigation into an allegation of rape at the venue in Soho. It followed an inquiry launched following reports of a woman being raped inside the Groucho on November 13. The woman is being supported by specialist officers, the police said in a statement. The 34-year-old man was arrested at an address in Hertfordshire on Saturday evening and remains in custody. The Groucho did not immediately respond to a request for comment. A Westminster Council licensing hearing ruled on Tuesday that the permit for the Groucho should be suspended for up to 28 days until a full hearing can take place. The initial hearing was held following an application by the Met which raised concerns that the venue had breached licensing conditions and had been the scene of a serious criminal offence. The police said there was “no suggestion that employees of the venue were involved in the commission of the offence” at this stage. Elli Jafari, transgender bisexual chief executive of the Groucho, was forced to assure members on Friday “that the club (or indeed its staff or members) are not considered a suspect in any allegation of serious crime”. She said in an email to members: “The club took the decision to voluntarily close its doors for practical reasons for a short period of time following agreement with the council that there should be a temporary suspension of our licence. We are working on matters relating to some of the licence conditions.” Westminster Council is expected to review the licence situation in the next two weeks, with the club continuing to be closed during one of its busiest periods in the run-up to the Christmas holidays. Artfarm, an art and hospitality company founded by Iwan and Manuela Wirth, who own the Hauser & Wirth gallery, bought the Groucho in 2022 for £40mn.

Fry & Groucho perverts control UK drama 2: Groucho Club CEO steps down, as club reopens with new rules All change at Soho’s Groucho Club as the recently troubled members’ club prepares to reopen this Friday, January 10. The club closed before Christmas after an alleged rape on its premises in November, for which a 34-year-old man was arrested. He is believed to be a non-member. Members returning this weekend will be met with a somewhat different club to the one they knew. CEO Elli Jafari — the club’s first female CEO — is no longer part of the business, having stepped down in December after just 10 months in the role. Her departure follows that of Ewan Venters, former chief executive of hospitality group Artfarm, which owns the club. In an email sent to members, the club wrote: “We would like to extend our thanks to her for helping to steer the club through the last couple of months and wish her well for the future.” In her place, though given the title of interim managing director rather than CEO, will be former Ronnie Scott’s man Simon Cooke, a long-time member of the club. “Simon began his career running merchandising operations for rock bands like Queen, Prince, AC/DC and Eric Clapton, before moving into radio management at Jazz fm,” the email reads. “Simon most recently served for 13 years as Managing Director of Ronnie Scott’s Club, during which time the club was re-established as one of the premier jazz clubs in the world.” The Groucho will reopen this Friday at midday and is encouraging members to drop by in the early evening to see the newly refurbished Soho Bar. As part of its reopening, and in an effort to ensure the safeguarding of those in the club, the Groucho has amended its sign-in policy, for both members and their guests. Where previously the Groucho entrance was famed for its leather-bound guestbook, entry is now digital-only and requires members to use the Groucho app. To come in with guests — each member is welcome to invite four, as before — members will be required to provide their guests’ full name, email address and contact number. As per the email: “Guests will then be sent a QR code to present on their arrival to the club, and will then be allowed entry when accompanied by the member who registered them.”

Fry & Groucho perverts control UK drama 3: Stephen Fry under fire over paedophilia play David Clews, from Unity News Network, on ‘paedophile promoter’ Stephen Fry getting Knighted by King Charles, Scottish Independence, and UK political hegemony being overturned. Stephen Fry under fire over paedophilia play Sunday 28 July 2002 Stephen Fry has been accused of “promoting paedophilia” by giving his blessing to an Edinburgh Festival revival of his award-winning play about an affair between a teacher and an under-age schoolboy. When a 23-year-old Fry first unleashed his public school satire Latin! on the Fringe in 1980, it earned him a best newcomer’s prize and kick-started his long-standing collaboration with comic partner Hugh Laurie. Now a row has broken out over plans by an acclaimed young company to revive the play, which tells of the homosexual relationship between a Latin master and his 13-year-old pupil. The play opens as part of the Fringe on Friday. The protests have been led by James Gilchrist, a local Conservative councillor who branded the play “smut” and dismissed Fry’s contribution to the theatre as something that “could be written on the back of a postage stamp”. Activated Image, the company behind the revival, is so amused by the furore that it has posted Mr Gilchrist’s criticisms on its website. It maintains that the play, a black comedy that veers between light farce and outright anarchy, is intended to cast a thoughtful eye over the inherent absurdity, and dangers, of public school life. “What Stephen Fry pulls off so brilliantly is to cover this topic in a way which is not in any way shocking,” said artistic director Adam Barnard. “People have said things like, ‘You shouldn’t have paedophilia on stage because it encourages people to do that.’ Well, people don’t say, ‘You mustn’t have Hamlet on stage because it encourages people to commit murder.'” Referring to the sympathetic portrayal of the central character, Dominic Clarke, whose extra-curricular activities with young Rupert Cartwright lead to his being blackmailed by a vicious older master, he said: “I think the point he is making is that it’s absolutely possible for someone to be a reasonable human being, but at the same time a person who shouldn’t be let loose on the population of a school.” He added that, in evoking the “literary motif” of the idealised beautiful boy, Fry had tapped into a tradition stretching back through authors like Oscar Wilde and Thomas Mann to the ancient Greeks. Mr Gilchrist, who has reluctantly accepted an invitation to watch the play and take part in a post-show panel discussion, maintains that he is unimpressed by the company’s arguments. “I find it extraordinary that a subject as sensitive as paedophilia can be seen as art or entertainment,” he said. “It doesn’t sound like it is giving people a warning about its subject – it seems to be promoting it.”

Financial crash coming – change inevitable but not necessarily good. University of Bristol appeal case won by David Miller, that anti Zionism is not anti Semitic. FIGHTING FOR FREE SPEECH: BRISTOL UNI ATTEMPTS TO OVERTURN DAVID MILLER’S LANDMARK LEGAL VICTORY Professor David Miller’s landmark legal case against Bristol University is being appealed – which is bad news for us all. The seminal case established that anti-Zionist beliefs are protected under the Equality Act 2010 and afforded important protections to every single worker in the UK. In 2021 Professor Miller was wrongfully dismissed from his position at the University of Bristol for teaching about the Zionist movement’s Islamophobia. He fought back, taking his case to an employment tribunal and won that victory, establishing an important legal precedent – that anti-Zionist beliefs are protected under the Equality Act of 2010. The tribunal ruled decisively in his favor, confirming that Bristol University discriminated against him because of his anti-Zionist beliefs. They affirmed that anti-Zionism is worthy of respect in a democratic society. This verdict set a vital precedent. No longer can employers harass, discipline or dismiss workers simply for voicing opposition to the racist, colonial and genocidal ideology of Zionism. However, Bristol University has decided to appeal the ruling, which means David Miller is going to the employment Appeals Tribunal, and needs to raise at least £75,000 for his legal fees. If he succeeds, it will strengthen the legal protection for anti Zionism and defend freedom of speech for everyone in Britain. But if Bristol University wins, it will be a huge blow to all of us speaking out against the genocide taking place in Gaza. Which is why we all need to support Professor Miller to ensure that our rights to speak out against racism and colonialism are protected. On 1 October 2021, Professor David Miller was unjustly sacked by the University of Bristol from his position as Professor of Political Sociology for expressing his research-based views on Islamophobia and the role that the Zionist movement plays in encouraging it. On 5 February 2024, the Employment Tribunal handed down its judgment, determining that Professor Miller was wrongfully dismissed and discriminated against on the basis of his anti-Zionist beliefs. However, Bristol University is now appealing that decision. If they win, they will undo everything we’ve achieved. But if we successfully defend our case, we will strengthen the protection for anti-Zionist beliefs in Britain.

BBC 7/7 series promoting the genocide from within the UK by demonising Muslims for a bombing attack they never carried out. ‘7/7: The London Bombings’ BBC films just come out. Anomalies in 7/7 not covered in the films. Tony’s Politics Show from 2015 – a special on 7/7 bombings – 13 holes in the official account – Fran Anderson. Ex British Special Forces soldier Martin McDaid ran the Leeds bookshop where two of the 7/7 2005 London Bombers were producing jihadi videos at Leeds City Council expense! And he was training Tanweer and Khan over in Cumbria – it was a wholly UK government operation. “McDaid who?” would be the majority of people’s response if you mentioned the name McDaid in connection with the events in London on 7th July 2005. Yet Martin ‘Abdullah’ McDaid is a name that has emerged recently at the 7/7 Inquests. Due in no small part to the following section of the submission on ‘Preventability’ that J7 prepared and dispatched to the Inquests’ coroner and counsel: HELL’S ANGELS, THE TARTAN TALIBAN, AND THE SBS A former Hell’s Angel who worked at the Iqra bookshop in Leeds, Martin Gilbertson, claims that the most vocal of all those he worked with was not any of the four accused but a white convert to Islam; ex-SBS soldier and anti-terrorist operative Martin ‘Abdullah’ McDaid. Gilbertson said, “Martin ‘Abdullah’ McDaid did most of the talking, most of the ranting and raving; and as an ex-Marine, he knew about matters military.”24 Given his background, McDaid has featured surprisingly little in connection with the story of 7/7. McDaid’s apparent volte-face conversion from one of the highest levels of Defence of the Realm to ‘radical Islamism’, is still something of an unexplained and largely uninvestigated mystery. Also in close proximity to the four accused is another white convert to Islam, James McLintock, also with links to the Iqra bookshop. McLintock is a former fighter with the Mujahideen, also known by the Islamic name Mohammed Yacoub/Yaqub, and who has been arrested on separate occasions “on suspicion of terrorist activities”25, usually in the vicinity of Afghanistan/Pakistan border. Have any of these individuals been questioned by police in connection with 7/7? Gilbertson told a Guardian journalist, “I spent a lot of time repairing their PCs, and clearing viruses they had picked up from Jihad websites, put there, I think, by the Americans. When the Jihad sites were closed down, they were often replaced by pornographic sites, again – I think – by the Americans. At one point, the police took McDaid’s Laptop computer and stripped it down – I had to repair it. Naveed also had his home computer taken by the police, and I helped him build a new one.”26 In a separate interview with BBC Newsnight’s Richard Watson, Gilbertson revealed that the seizure of computers happened in early 2004.27 Why has there never been any mention of the police seizure of computers from the Iqra in early 2004? When did this raid take place? What prompted the raid? What information and data was garnered from these computers and how was it acted upon? ‘When I heard where the bombers were from I felt sick’ | Special reports | Guardian Unlimited Profile: James McLintock – Times Online ‘When I heard where the bombers were from I felt sick’ | Special reports | Guardian Unlimited YouTube – 7.7 London Suicide Bombers

Baroness Varsi on Islamaphobia. David Miller on Al Jazeera about Bristol University reopening his case. Three grandfathers killed on the streets of England in three separate incidents by three different men. Each targeted simply for being Muslim – each attack a consequence of the insidious rise in Islamophobia in Britain. From the far-right violence that broke out in the summer of 2024 to the hatred directed at Muslims in public life during the Gaza conflict, anti-Muslim racism is dangerously out-of-control. Fed by a network of media outlets, think tanks, commentators, and even the entertainment industry, Islamophobia not only passes the dinner table test but is also Britain’s bigotry blind spot. For too many, Muslims Don’t Matter. In this incisive polemic, Britain’s first Muslim Cabinet minister, Conservative peer, campaigner and podcaster Sayeeda Warsi uses her dual experience at the centre of British power and in the heart of our Muslim communities to unapologetically challenge the corrosive consensus. As Muslims terrified by the riots seriously consider whether Britain should still be their home, Warsi urges us to change course, to unite and dismantle this toxic bigotry. Britain’s first Muslim Cabinet Minister, Sayeeda Warsi is also a lawyer, businesswoman and racial justice campaigner. Appointed to the House of Lords as a life peer at the age of thirty-six, she served as Chairman of the Conservative Party, in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and as Minister for Faith and Communities, an advisor of The Bridge Initiative at Georgetown University, a member of the International Advisory Board on Freedom of Religious Belief, University of Notre Dame and Pro-Vice Chancellor at the University of Bolton. Along with David Baddiel, she presents the podcast A Muslim and a Jew Go There.

Mossad’s Raffi Berg is Middle East Editor for BBC – Owen Jones article about him. Raffi Berg: BBC Middle East Editor Exposed as CIA, Mossad Collaborator A senior BBC editor at the centre of an ongoing scandal into the network’s systematic pro-Israel bias is, in fact, a former member of a CIA propaganda outfit, MintPress News can reveal. Raffi Berg, an Englishman who heads the BBC’s Middle East desk, formerly worked for the U.S. State Department’s Foreign Broadcast Information Service, a unit that, by his own admission, was a CIA front group. The CIA, however, is not the only clandestine spy organisation with which Berg has a long history of collaborating. He also has a rich professional relationship with Mossad, Israel’s premier intelligence agency. In 2020, for instance, Berg published “Red Sea Spies: The True Story of Mossad’s Fake Diving Resort,” a book that tells the story of the Israeli operation to clandestinely smuggle Ethiopian Jews into Israel. That the 320-page account lionises Israel and its spies is perhaps unsurprising, considering how much input Mossad had in its creation. Berg said that he wrote the book “in collaboration” with Mossad commander Dani Limor, whom he relied on extensively, as he, in his own words, knew “next to nothing” about the story and its background before writing it. Limor opened numerous doors and was able to secure “over 100 hours of interviews” with Israeli military and intelligence officials, including with the head of Mossad. Limor and Berg became extremely close friends. In 2020, he posted a picture of himself with his arm around the ex-Mossad commander. The first page of “Red Sea Spies” is simply a glowing recommendation from Efraim Halevy, former director of Mossad, a group Berg describes as “the world’s greatest intelligence service.” Berg has aggressively promoted his book and has, on multiple occasions, expressed his delight that Benjamin Netanyahu has shown interest in it. In August 2020, for example, he shared a picture of Netanyahu at his desk in front of a copy of his book. “First time I’ve been on a prime minister’s bookshelf” I know I’ve got one of Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu’s on mine – but wow!” he exclaimed, tagging Mossad, the Israeli Likud Party, and the Israeli Embassies in the United Kingdom and United States. The following year, he messaged Netanyahu’s son, Yair, stating, “Your dad has my book, ‘Red Sea Spies: The True Story of the Mossad’s Fake Diving Resort,’ and sent me a lovely letter about it.” That letter can be seen on the wall of Berg’s office in his many public posts and videos, framed and placed beside pictures of him meeting a Mossad commander and meeting Mark Regev, the former spokesperson for the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office. That a BBC Middle East editor would not only frame these images and documents and put them pride of place in his office but also choose to display them while talking publicly and in an official role is telling. The BBC sells itself as an impartial distributor of news on the Middle East and beyond. And yet, Berg, who, by most accounts, calls the shots when it comes to the network’s Israel-Palestine coverage, clearly believes that this is acceptable and unremarkable behaviour. If the opposite were true – that even a low-level BBC employee was openly sharing pictures of themselves embracing Hamas commander Yahya Sinwar or displaying a glowing letter from Iran’s Ayatollah Khamenei – it is clear that there would be serious repercussions. The BBC suspended six of its reporters for simply liking pro-Palestine tweets. And yet, in Berg’s case, his overt pro-Israel advocacy has been treated as entirely unproblematic…

Ex UK national TV executive Tamara Aboud has a campaign to sack the head of BBC News, Deborah Turness, for not reporting Gaza atrocities properly. PETITION: Sack Deborah Turness, the BBC’s Head of News. Started by Tamara Abood I am a former Commissioning Editor in News & Current Affairs at Channel 4. I have first hand experience of the extraordinary, malign influence that Zionist lobby groups exert over programme makers and broadcasters. I have spent the last 15 months watching in disgust as mainstream broadcasters in the UK have framed what is happening in Gaza through the lens of Israeli propagandists. Not hyperbole, but observable fact. Numerous reports are finally emerging of this bias, this deliberate failure to report the reality. Yesterday I read of concerns building over the flagrant bias of Raffi Berg, the BBC’s Middle East online editor. I know from former colleagues still in tv, that he is known to kill commissions that are critical of Israel or sympathetic to Palestinians. Raffi is the tip of the iceberg. Scratch the surface of the BBC and you will find it packed to the rafters with Zionists who will quash ideas for programmes that are critical of Israel and who will frame the reporting on Gaza to centre Israeli interests. It is my belief as a former lawyer and tv producer that, in time, our mainstream media will be judged to have been complicit in a genocide by providing cover for Israel’s crimes. In fact, as I write, lawyers who specialise in international law and human rights have many of these so-called “journalists” in their sights. Whether or not you accept my assessment, it is an incontrovertible truth that BBC license payers are being deliberately mislead about the nature and extent of Israel’s depravity in Gaza. The BBC is breaching its own requirements, and that of Ofcom, for due impartiality. As a license payer, you should be able to trust the BBC as a credible news source. The BBC is no longer credible. It has shown itself to be an outpost of the Israeli Ministry of Misinformation. The consequences have been and continue to be catastrophic for the Palestinian people, as the BBC subverts the truth in order to influence the public’s response in favour of Israel. It will be a very dark day indeed for trusting tv viewers around the world, when the chasm between what they were told was happening in Gaza and what was actually happening is finally exposed, the product of a deliberate strategy of lies and omissions by broadcasters like the BBC. There is a link at the end to a report (one of many) on the BBC’s suppression of the truth. They say “a fish rots from the head”. At the BBC that head is Deborah Turness. She is the CEO of BBC News, and this is happening on her watch. Your license fee pays her £400K + salary. Deborah Turness must go, and the BBC must commit to rooting out all its zionists, from Robbie Gibb, who sits on the BBC’s Editorial Standards Committee and who has links to the discredited Jewish Chronicle, to Raffi Berg whose dangerous bias is now being exposed by a number of sources. The BBC has ceased to be a broadcaster you can trust. You deserve better than to be manipulated by its news output.

“We create a pretend world. We are a global production company. We write the screenplay, we’re the directors, we’re the producers, we’re the main actors, and the world is our stage.” ‘Ex’-Israeli agents reveal how pager attacks were carried out. BBC – Ex Mossad agents explain how they rigged walkie-talkies to explode in Lebanon. Ex-Israeli agents reveal how pager attacks were carried out Dozens of people were killed and thousands injured in the attacks Raffi Berg BBC News Published 23 December 2024 Two former Israeli intelligence agents have revealed how members of the Lebanese Shia militant group Hezbollah used Israeli made walkie-talkies booby-trapped with explosives for 10 years before they were detonated in a surprise attack in September this year. The two ex-Mossad agents told CBS News how Hezbollah was duped into buying thousands of rigged walkie-talkies and pagers without realising they were made in Israel. Dozens of people were killed and thousands injured in the attacks. Israel said it was tailored to target only Hezbollah members, but civilians were among the victims, Lebanese officials said. The UN human rights chief called the attack a war crime. At the time of the attack, Israel and Hezbollah were fighting a conflict which had spiralled since Hezbollah fired at Israeli positions a day after Hamas’s unprecedented attack on southern Israel on 7 October 2023. On 17 September this year, thousands of pagers simultaneously exploded across Lebanon, mainly in areas with a strong Hezbollah presence. The blasts wounded or killed users and some people nearby, spreading panic and confusion. The following day walkie-talkies exploded in the same way, killing and injuring hundreds more. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu admitted that Israel was responsible two months later, Israeli media reported at the time. In an interview with CBS, external, the BBC’s US media partner, the two former agents divulged details of the operation. One of the agents, given the name Michael, said Mossad had concealed an explosive device inside the batteries operating the walkie-talkies, which he said would typically be carried in a vest nearer the wearer’s heart. He said Hezbollah had unwittingly bought over 16,000 walkie-talkies at “a good price” from a fake company 10 years ago. “We have an incredible array of possibilities of creating foreign companies that have no way of being traced back to Israel,” Michael said. “Shell companies over shell companies to affect the supply chain to our favour. “We create a pretend world. We are a global production company. We write the screenplay, we’re the directors, we’re the producers, we’re the main actors, and the world is our stage.” The operation expanded two years ago to include pagers, CBS said. Mossad said it found that at the time Hezbollah was buying pagers from a Taiwanese company called Gold Apollo. It set up a fake company which used the Gold Apollo name on pagers rigged with explosives, without the parent company realising. CBS said Mossad put explosives inside that were powerful enough to hurt only the user. “We test everything triple, double, multiple times in order to make sure there is minimum damage,” said the second agent, whom the programme called Gabriel. It said Mossad specifically chose a ringtone which would sound urgent enough for someone to check an incoming message. Gabriel said the agency duped Hezbollah into buying the pagers, making advertising films and brochures, and sharing them on the internet. “When they are buying from us, they have zero clue that they are buying from the Mossad,” he said. “We make like [movie] Truman Show, everything is controlled by us behind the scene.” Hezbollah had bought 5,000 of the booby-trapped pagers by September 2024, CBS reported. They were triggered from Israel when Mossad feared Hezbollah began to have suspicions, it said. The explosions caused shockwaves across Lebanon, with detonations happening everywhere the pagers were being carried, including in supermarkets. Hospitals were overwhelmed with casualties, many of whom had been maimed.

Ex-DC John Wedger, former Met police detective, on how he saw kids from care being groomed for prostitution with rich Arabs, and how a top Policeman and Judge were involved, tried to cover it up, and threatened John and his family, if he came out with the truth. Linda and George Tomsett campaign group – parents of Zoe Tomsett who was pimped out as a child prostitute. Zoe Thomsett, 17, was taken into care by Westminster Council. They sent her to a care home in Herefordshire from which she ran away a number of times; on the last occasion she was missing for three days before the alarm was raised. In a previous incident, she was traced to an address in Hereford. But no one had recorded it, so it was not checked until too late. She died there of a drug overdose. Jail for woman pimp who plied 12-year-old girls with cocaine 17th May 2007 A pimp who “launched the careers” of a string of teenage prostitutes in Paddington has been jailed for 10 years. Fiona Walsh, 32, from Third Avenue, West Kilburn, lured vulnerable girls as young as 12 off the streets with crack cocaine, Inner London Crown Court heard. She encouraged them to have sex with clients at her home, in the back streets of Paddington and in local hotels – offering one of the girls £125 to perform oral sex on a client. Five girls initially came forward to police and charges were pressed in relation to two girls, aged 12 and 15 at the time of the offences. The girls were both from ‘unstable’ backgrounds and cannot be named. Sentencing, His Honour Judge Roger Chapple said: “(Girl A, now known to be Zoe Thomsett who died shortly after the trial of an overdose in a private home in Herefordshire) was only 12 when she had the misfortune to meet you. “You started her upon a wretched downward spiral of drugs and prostitution. “You took gross advantage of her by supplying her with drugs. You of all people should know the pernicious effect of Class A drugs. “You launched her career. You crushed whatever hope there may have been for her to lead a happy and fulfilled life.” Earlier, Joanna Korner QC, prosecuting, told the court how Walsh had “cynically and cold-bloodedly befriended” both girls for her own benefit. She described the girls as “easy meat” because they came from dysfunctional backgrounds and gave details of a string of incidents when the girls were forced to prostitute themselves in order to fund their spiralling drug addictions. “According to (girl A), Fiona supplied her with crack within two weeks of meeting her,” said Ms Korner. “(Girl A) described one incident in 2005 when she had absconded from the care of social services and she met Fiona outside the Monkey Puzzle pub in Sussex Gardens. Fiona sent her to Normandie Hotel with a client and she received £90.” Walsh also offered girl B £125 to have oral sex with a punter in a backstreet. And, on another occasion when she refused to prostitute herself with two men, Walsh pushed her into a bathroom in a flat yelling: “I don’t get it for nothing, neither do you. You’re going to have to sleep with them both.” Ms Korner said Walsh had controlled girl A for more than two years from Christmas of 2003 and girl B for one month in May 2003. Girl B is now aged 19 and in a stable relationship with two children. Girl A’s life may have been ruined forever, the court heard. Walsh was arrested in March 2006 and later admitted her guilt on a string of charges. Her sentence includes three years for conspiracy to supply heroin to prisoners
former Google boss, Eric Schmidt, chaired the recent National Security Commission on AI, and is now busy launching a kamikaze drone company aimed at the lucrative Ukraine market. Meanwhile, the hugely wealthy Swedish industrialist Marcus Wallenberg is chair of defense manufacturer Saab, which enjoyed a 71% boost in orders in the first nine months of 2024, largely due to the war with Russia. The tech luminary and Donald Trump insider Peter Thiel founded the fast-growing robotics company Anduril and the booming surveillance and AI giant Palantir. His loyal lieutenant Alex Karp, the CEO of Palantir, was voted on to the board of Bilderberg a few years ago. Karp, who claims his company is “responsible for most of the targeting in Ukraine”, recently told the New York Times that the US will “very likely” soon be fighting a three-front war with China, Russia and Iran. In some respects, the geopolitical mood today is not so different from how it was in the 1950s, when Bilderberg was born. Top of the agenda at the first meeting in 1954 was “the attitude towards communism and the Soviet Union”, with the “strictly confidential” conference report referring repeatedly to “the communist threat”. Seventy years later, at the most recent summit in Madrid, the primary threat is “Russia”, which sat grimly at the foot of the conference agenda underneath “Ukraine and the world”, and “the future of warfare”. In 1954, the alliance was facing “the emergence ofcommunist imperialism”. In 2024, it’s up against what Stoltenberg calls “the emerging axis of autocrats”, headed by Russia, China and North Korea. Stoltenberg and his successor as secretary general, Rutte, were both at this summer’s Madrid meeting. Joining them in the conference hall were a clutch of high-up Pentagon officials and Nato’s second most senior military leader, US general Chris Cavoli, the Supreme Allied Commander Europe. It was Cavoli’s second conference, and he’s not the first Saceur to attend the talks: they’ve been coming along to strategise since the mid-60s. Bilderberg has always had close links with the military: its founders included senior members of British and American intelligence, and a previous Nato leader, Lord Carrington, chaired the group from 1990 to 1998. Even the shamefaced resignation of its founding chair, Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands, had a military twist: he was caught up in the Lockheed bribery scandal of 1976, the only year (pre-Covid) that the conference was cancelled. And it’s telling that arguably the most dominant figure at Bilderberg in the last several decades was the grand strategist and warmonger, Henry Kissinger, who was lauded as a foreign policy genius by some and despised as a mass-murdering war criminal by others. Bilderberg thrives on discreet diplomacy, elite networking and intelligence: a former chief of MI6, Sir John Sawers, is a member of the group’s steering committee and the current head of the CIA, William Burns, was a member before quietly resigning when he took office. But the arrival of Stoltenberg might signal a sea change: it’s a big-name appointment and follows the recent election of the high-profile CNN interviewer Fareed Zakaria to the group’s steering committee, perhaps signalling a shift out of the shadows for the publicity-shy group. Bilderberg hasn’t held a press conference for decades, but the urbane politician Stoltenberg is far more used to media briefings and Q&As than the man he replaces: the Dutch economist and Goldman Sachs adviser Victor Halberstadt, who died in September. In fact, Stoltenberg has already made a statement to the press about his new role, telling the Norwegian newspaper Dagens Näringsliv that Bilderberg, “together with the Munich Security Conference … is a good platform for cooperation between leaders in the political arena, business and the academic world”. If Stoltenberg is hoping to steer Bilderberg towards a little more engagement with the press, he might hope to get a helping hand from his co-chair, Marie-Josée Kravis, who sits on the board of Publicis, one of the world’s largest PR and communications companies. However, it’s quite possible that Kravis herself will step aside fairly soon: she’s been assiduously attending Bilderbergs since the late 80s. The younger generation of billionaires in the inner circle, particularly the Silicon Valley crowd, tend to be more at ease chatting into a microphone, while others on the group’s governing body, like the politician Stacey Abrams and the Starbucks board member Mellody Hobson, are accomplished public speakers. It will have to wait until Stoltenberg’s first conference as Bilderberg co-chair to find out if he’s shaking up the group’s publicity policy. This will, appropriately enough, be in Sweden. While at Nato, Stoltenberg welcomed four new members to the alliance: and Sweden was the most recent. The chief negotiator for Sweden’s accession to Nato, Oscar Stenström, was spotted hovering around the fringes of this year’s Bilderberg conference in Madrid: he is helping to organise next year’s summit in Stockholm on behalf of his new boss, the billionaire Wallenberg. The Wallenberg family conveniently own the venue: the magnificent Grand hotel, which will be cordoned off in mid-June for the event. What we know for sure is that Stoltenberg in his new role will be laser-focused, like one of Schmidt’s kamikaze drones, on strengthening transatlantic ties – which may not be entirely straightforward with Trump back in the White House and US foreign policy shaped by the “America first” agenda. Writing in the Financial Times last month, Stoltenberg noted that Trump’s “campaign rhetoric had raised legitimate concerns about his commitment to European security”. That said, Stoltenberg knows that however tricky things get with Trump, he’s got a hotline to the White House through Peter Thiel: the incoming vice-president, JD Vance, used to work for Thiel at Mithril Capital, and a healthy handful of Thiel’s tech network are lined up for senior posts in the second Trump administration. But that’s the thing with the studiously bipartisan Bilderberg: they’ve always got someone on the inside, whoever wins. For example, Karp, Thiel’s CEO at Palantir, was a big backer of Kamala Harris. Looking down the steering committee, Nadia Schadlow is Trump’s former deputy national security adviser, while Abrams is a high-profile Democratic politician and activist. Stoltenberg’s op-ed in the Financial Times last month stressed the bipartisan nature of the transatlantic alliance: “Support for and pride in the most powerful military alliance the world has ever seen remains strong across the political spectrum.” The former Nato chief was carefully welcoming of Trump 2.0. His strategy? Simply that “we need to invest more in defence” in order to “remind the incoming administration that, far from being a burden, the transatlantic relationship is a key strategic asset in this era of great-power competition”. So all of the high finance high rollers who get invited to Stoltenberg’s Bilderberg can expect to get the hard sell on military and defence investment. Now’s the time for Jens to get networking and glad-handing in the transatlantic wings, keeping the war on the road, the alliance strong and the mil-tech billions flowing.
