Stabbing of young girls in Southport by Axel Rudakubana. Teenager charged with stabbing three girls to death named as Axel Rudakubana – EDL protests in Southport after. Lies spread around the world after stabbing about identity of killer, fuelling protests in far right. Deliberate by deep state? Southport attack misinformation fuels far-right discourse on social media Misinformation spread rapidly and led to rioters clashing with police outside a mosque in the wake of a knife attack that left three children dead in Southport. Information abhors a vacuum. So when the police and media, for legal reasons, put out only a few details about the Southport attacker – that he was 17 years old and born in Cardiff – misinformation rushed in instead. As far-right groups then began reposting the false claims and organising on messaging app Telegram, it made for a violent outcome. The misinformation started almost as soon as news of the knife attack on a Taylor Swift dance workshop for children broke on Monday, 29 July. Accounts on X, formerly Twitter, quickly began promoting false narratives about the attacker’s nationality and religion. Anti-migrant sentiment goes viral One account, European Invasion, which has more than 360,000 followers, said the suspect was “a Muslim immigrant” – a tweet that earned nearly four million impressions. Andrew Tate, the controversial influencer, follows that account, and amplified that false narrative, saying that the attacker was an “illegal migrant”.
The misinformation spread quickly, and social networks were quickly inundated with a tidal wave of similar content, almost immediately after the attack. And then a very specific piece of misinformation appeared: that the attacker was called “Ali Al-Shakati”, and had arrived in the UK illegally on a boat last year. None of this is true, according to police statements and Sky News’ investigation. Disinformation around the identity of the Southport attack perpetrator spread fast on X, reaching more people compared to the posts denouncing the misinformation managed to reach. Key accounts had a larger audience reach and played a pivotal role in spreading misinformation, including @europeinvasionn whose post shortly after the attack, uploaded at 1:49pm on 29 July, was seen by nearly 4m people. The first post to mention the name “Ali Al-Shakati” was at 4:49pm, from account @artemisfornow. The account has 44k followers but their tweet ended up being seen by almost 1.5m people by 30 July.
Resolution Foundation on immigration to UK has been twisted by statisticians and is crippling the economy. Cost of living crisis, UK economy. Rachel Reeves on £20bn black hole – will taxes be put up? Solutions? Inheritance of wealth vs state benefits. Banks owning everything. Life in the Slow Lane – the latest Resolution Foundation briefing examines the UK’s track record on the key economic metrics of growth, productivity and trade since 2010, how the country’s performance has evolved over this period, and how it needs to change in the next parliament. Looking at GDP per capita, which accounts for population growth, the UK’s overall and relative performance is far worse. GDP per capita has grown by a mere 4.3 per cent over the past 16 years in total, compared to 46 per cent in the 16 years prior to this. Growth in the 2010s was largely driven by an employment boom (peaking at 76.1 per cent in Q4 2019) which has since turned to bust (now 74.5 per cent in Q1 2024), exposing the UK’s poor record on productivity – the ultimate driver of rising living standards. In the 2010s, productivity (output per worker) grew by just 0.6 per cent a year – less than a third of the rate enjoyed in the decade running up to the financial crisis (2.2 per cent) – and the second worst performance in the G7 after Italy. Productivity growth since the financial crisis has been the slowest for two centuries. And while the UK’s longstanding productivity woes are now also being experienced by other advanced economies such as France and Germany, Britain has found new areas of economic exceptionalism on trade – for good and for ill. The report finds that, since 2019, the UK has cemented its role as the world’s second biggest exporter of services after the US, with services exports growing by 7.8 per cent a year, compared to an OECD average of just 5.4 per cent. This is especially encouraging given the global trade in services is forecast to grow faster than goods in the coming decade, and the UK is well placed to capitalise on this trade tailwind. Far less welcome, however, has been its weak performance on goods trade. The UK has failed to capitalise on the post-pandemic boom in goods trade – losing market share in the goods that it sells to other countries – and seeing goods exports grow by just 1.1 per cent a year, compared to 5.3 per cent across the OECD. Tommy Robinson rant about immigration. Sir Richard Dearlove, former Director General of MI6, on ‘Channel 3 Now’ spreading fake news about identity of stabber in Southport, and blaming Russia. Russia could be fuelling far-right riots after Southport killings, ex-MI6 boss warns Former MI6 boss Sir Richard Dearlove on the riots after Southport Russia could be using online disinformation to fuel far-right riots that have broken out across the UK after the Southport killings on Monday, the former head of MI6 has warned LBC. Sir Richard Dearlove told LBC’s Nick Ferrari at Breakfast that he would not be surprised if the riots in Southport, London, Hartlepool, Manchester were stoked by Kremlin bots. Wild false rumours have spread online among far-right groups about the identity of the teen suspect accused of murdering three children and trying to murder several more in Southport on Monday. These have led to violent protests in the Lancashire town on Tuesday, as well as others in Downing Street in central London, in Hartlepool in the north-east, and in Manchester on Wednesday night.
Archbishop of Canterbuty Rowan Williams explains Sharia Law has much in common with Jewish or old-fashioned English ‘Church Law’ all based on similar monotheistic Bible and Koran teachings Thursday 7th February 2008 An interview with Christopher Landau of the BBC Radio 4 ‘World at One’ programme, on the Temple lecture ‘Civil and religious law in England: a religious perspective.‘ The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, has said that UK law needs to continue to find accommodation with religious legal codes such as the Islamic system of Sharia if community cohesion and development are to be achieved. Speaking to the BBC ahead of the opening lecture in a series on Islam in English Law being given tonight to legal academics, in which he calls for the legal establishment to engage with these issues, Dr Williams said that the ability of the law of the land to accommodate religious perspectives, as it had already done with the Jewish Halacha, was essential: “… certain provision of Sharia are already recognised in our society and under our law; so it’s not as if we’re bringing in an alien and rival system; we already have in this country a number of situations in which the internal law of religious communities is recognised by the law of the land as justified conscientious objections in certain circumstances in providing certain kinds of social relations.” Whilst speaking in the main about principles of Sharia law, the point applied generally to other religious principles: “We have orthodox Jewish courts operating in this country legally and in a regulated way because there are modes of dispute resolution and customary provisions which apply there in the light of Talmud. It’s not a new problem, not to mention the questions … about how the consciences of Catholics, Anglicans and others who have difficulty over issues like abortion are accommodated within the Law; so the whole idea that there are perfectly proper ways in which the law of the land pays respect to custom and community; that’s already there.” Advertisement Privacy Settings
Mossad, far right groups, football hooligans – all infiltrated/controlled by police are connected. David Miller @Tracking_Power What’s causing the Islamophobic riots across the UK, and why now? 1. The riots have been instigated by the Zionist asset Stephen Yaxley-Lennon (‘Tommy Robinson’), who has been working for the State of Israel since 2009 as part of the so-called ‘counterjihad’ Islamophobia movement established by that state. When his organisation, the English Defence League, was incorporated in 2011, two years after its inception, it was named the English & Jewish Defence League. The Jewish Defence League, a Zionist terrorist organisation, has been a key part of violent Islamophobic street thuggery in the UK over the past decade. 2. Yaxley-Lennon is one of the most high-profile actors in the State of Israel’s Online Influencers Programme in response to Operation Al-Aqsa Storm. He and others, like Oli London, Noa Tishby, Hen Mazzig, Arsen Ostrovsky and Emily Schrader (and many others) are paid to distribute Zionist propaganda, of which pushing back against pro-Palestine protests and sowing Islamophobia are two important and interlinked aims. 3. The recent Islamophobic riots in the UK should be seen as the latest phase of the State of Israel’s war on British Muslims, who it sees as originating the protest movement in the UK. These riots are designed to punish Muslims for their anti-Zionist sentiment after various other methods to suppress opposition to Zionism by the State of Israel have been thwarted. The State of Israel’s attempts to use its assets and operatives in the British political and media class — such as Suella Braverman and Michael Gove — to thwart pro-Palestinian protests have failed. Zionist counter-protests have failed to mobilise significant numbers. Sporadic Zionist thuggery and the use of other assets — such as Iranian secularist extremists — have also failed to intimidate Muslims. So now the State of Israel is weaponising its cannon fodder on the white nationalist far-right, who have greater numbers than either Zionist street thugs or Iranian monarchists and secularist extremists. 4. Finally, there are also questions about which actor authored the idea that Muslims were responsible for the ostensible triggers for these events. MI6 and its assets (eg Paul Mason) are desperately trying to pretend this was a Russian disinfo op. But the original stories did not come from Russia. Where did they come from?
Heiko Khoo, who does Marxist Tours of London, on Tommy Robinson . Kier Starmer on Tommy Robinson and thugs – policing response will be strong. What we know about Tommy Robinson’s whereabouts after he flees UK. Tommy Robinson has fled the UK, according to the High Court, following his arrest over the weekend… Robinson was due to appear before the High Court on Monday after being accused of continuing to talk online about a libel case he lost in 2021. The court heard that Robinson has left the country after committing “flagrant” contempt of court relating to a film played at a protest in central London. He is accused of an alleged breach of a court order after losing the libel case three years ago. Adam Payter, representing the solicitor general, said on Monday it is believed Robinson left the UK hours after being released on unconditional bail following his reported arrest over the weekend. Payter said Robinson was arrested following Saturday’s “large demonstration” in central London, which featured the showing of a film that was “central to this application” and showed a “flagrant” and “admitted” breach of the court order. Thousands of supporters of Tommy Robinson marched in London on Saturday. (Alamy) He said that following the demonstration, Robinson was stopped in Folkestone, Kent, during a port stop and search and arrested by Kent Police under the Terrorism Act 2000. “We understand he failed to co-operate with a port stop and search,” said Payter. “The implication is he was attempting to leave the country and therefore was not intending to attend this hearing this morning.” He added that Robinson was reminded of Monday’s hearing before being released on unconditional bail at 10pm on Sunday, but that it is now believed he “left the UK last night and there was nothing to prevent him from doing so”. Kent Police said a 41-year-old man was detained by officers on Sunday under Schedule 7 of the Terrorism Act 2000 and was released on bail while inquiries continued. Under schedule seven of the Terrorism Act, police are allowed to stop anyone passing through a UK port “to determine whether they may be involved or concerned in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism”. Dozens of Robinson’s supporters protested outside Downing Street on Sunday evening following news of his arrest. The High Court heard that Robinson “is not within the jurisdiction of the UK”, and Payter claimed Robinson had returned to the country “with the purpose of publishing the film” before leaving again “to put himself beyond the reach of this court’s jurisdiction”. Mr Justice Johnson issued a warrant for Robinson’s arrest after he did not attend the hearing, but ordered that it not be carried out “until early October” to allow Robinson time to indicate that he would attend the next hearing voluntarily or to apply to “set aside” the warrant.
Now works for EDL? Former British spy in the IRA, Kevin Fulton is implicated in 25 open cases from The Troubles including assassinations and the Omagh bomb. In 2008 Fulton was invited by King Charles to a Westminster Abbey ‘Operation Banner’ memorial service and is now believed to be Head of Security for pro-Israel EDL racist Tommy Robinson IrishNews.com – thisweek.org.uk Former British agent Peter Keeley working for far-right leader Tommy Robinson, book claims A FORMER British agent facing dozens of lawsuits linked to a series of paramilitary murders and attacks has been working for far-right leader Tommy Robinson, it has been claimed. Peter Keeley, who is also known as Kevin Fulton, has been accused of carrying out surveillance on behalf of Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon. Robinson founded the far-right English Defence League (EDL) in 2009 and is a former member of the British National Party. In a new book about Robinson Nick Lowles, chief executive of anti-fascist group Hope not Hate, makes several allegations about Keeley, including that he is a “surveillance officer” for the former EDL boss. It is claimed by Lowles that Keeley and Robinson confronted the author outside his home earlier this year. He also claims Keeley joined up with Robinson in June 2020 and has been gathering information against alleged child sex offenders. It is claimed that Keeley uses a white van with darkened windows and includes camera and video mounts along with a camera fixed in an adapted coffee cup, which sits on the dashboard of the vehicle, The Observer reported. It is also suggested Keeley was brought on board by a former British soldier who it is claimed was a member of a special military unit that operated in the north. Lowles alleges that Keeley and Robinson filmed him outside his house as he was being asked questions by the far-right activist. In march it was claimed in court that Keeley is facing up to 25 lawsuits in connection with a series of paramilitary murders and attacks.
Social care solutions for elderly. Publicly owned care system? Ditching of social care plan is a tragedy – says Sir Andrew Dilnot Chancellor Rachel Reeves’s decision to scrap planned changes to the care system in England has been described as a “tragedy” by Sir Andrew Dilnot, the man who authored the proposals in 2011. Speaking to the BBC’s Today programme, Sir Andrew said: “We’ve failed another generation of families.” He said it was another example of social care “being given too little attention, being ignored, being tossed aside”. Ms Reeves said: “There are a lot of things this new Labour government would like to do but unless you can say where the money is going to come from you can’t do them.” On Monday, the chancellor set out a series of spending cuts, which she argued were a result of a £21.9bn government overspend hidden by the previous Conservative government. Shadow chancellor Jeremy Hunt accused her of a “shameless attempt to lay the ground for tax rises” in the October Budget. The social care plan would have introduced an £86,000 cap on the amount an older or disabled person would have to pay towards their support at home or in care homes from next October. After spending £86,000 on their care, people with a high level of need would have had their care costs paid for by local authorities. The threshold for getting some council support to pay for costs, before exceeding the cap, would also be made more generous, with people with assets up to £100,000 able to qualify, rather than £23,250 currently.
Brownstone Institute – 10 Points About Post Lockdown Economics. Ten Points About Post-Lockdown Economics By Jeffrey A. Tucker The sudden economic lockdown of March 2020, the world over, was one of the more shocking moments in history. The very core of the economic problem from the beginning of recorded time was getting more of what people needed to them in a way that was sustainable given the inherent scarcities of the state of nature. Regardless of the system, creating wealth was the stated goal, and humanity gradually discovered that trade, investment, marketing, and access to more via travel and creativity was the way forward. All in an instant, all those considerations were put on the back burner to combat what was supposed to be a deadly disease. What’s more, the belief was that ending economic activity, at least that deemed to be nonessential, was the path toward solving the health crisis. For how long? It was initially advertised to be two weeks. But as time went on and the lockdown period was extended longer and longer, it became clear that the whole point was to wait for a vaccine. This was based on the evidence-free supposition that the whole population was under threat and that the shot would fix the problem. The world economy crashed – entirely by intention and by force – as never before seen in modern times. As Trump said at the time, even as he greenlighted the lockdowns, no one had ever heard of anything like this. That’s because it is crazy and deeply dangerous. There is no such thing as turning a global economy off and then on again as if it had a breaker switch to pull and push again when the time came. Of the attempt, here are ten general observations about the results. 5. The inflation data is fake. According to the official data, the dollar of January 2020 has sustained 82 percent of its value, which is to say it has lost only 18 percent of value over four years. Think about this in your own life, based on your bills, your shopping, and what you can see with your own eyes. Think back to the good old days of 2019. In what world is it even vaguely plausible that the prices you pay (or consider paying but then decline to pay) have gone up only 18 percent? How is the CPI able to render price increases this low? Because the data excludes interest rates, homeowners insurance, taxes, shrinkflation, and added fees. Data on health insurance prices are adjusted downwards for medical consumption. The data on home prices is fed through a wildly complicated formula called homeowners equivalent rent. It has become a fantasy. In the chart below, the red line is excluded from CPI in favor of the blue line.
Ron Delnevo, from Payment Choice Alliance, on cashless society, after tech failure of Crowdstrike, and privacy. Tech surveillance businesses. Worldwide IT Collapse Underlines The Folly Of ‘Cashless’! This excellent article by James Tapper and Gabby Eretuyan at The Observer, highlights the perils of a ‘cashless’ society. CrowdStrike are just the latest software provider to demonstrate that totally relying on leading edge technology is as sensible as using a lemming as your mountain guide…. The UK is an outlier in that the British public have no legal right to have their cash accepted for payments. France, Norway and Spain are soon to be joined by Ireland in having Payment Choice laws. Such laws guarantee that the public can spend their cash, when and where they choose. 40 million British adults told YouGov last year that they want the same legal right to use their cash as enjoyed by the public in all of the UK’s neighbours. The UK government, led by PM Sir Keir Starmer, will surely want to give those 40 million people what they want and need – Payment Choice. And just to be sure, the Payment Choice Alliance will be at The Labour Party Conference in Liverpool in September, meeting with every Labour MP who cares about their constituents strong desire for Payment Choice. The Payment Choice Alliance, founded in 2014 and relaunched in 2023, is a not-for-profit organisation that is campaigning to ensure the right of the British public to use cash is safeguarded by the passing of a Payments Choice Act. The Act would give everyone in the UK the right to use their cash, when and where they choose. The Payment Choice Alliance, which is run by committed volunteers, is also focused on ensuring every community in the UK has convenient cash withdrawal and deposit facilities. The provision of such facilities, along with the legal obligation of businesses to accept cash, will ensure cash remains a viable Payment Choice for the British public for as long as they want to use it.
Nicholas Jones, ex BBC journalist, on the mutual sharing of information between journalists and police in the miner’s strike. The Enemy Within: The Secret War Against the Miners (1994) Seumas Milne Margaret Thatcher branded the leaders of the 1984-85 miners strike “the enemy within.” With the publication of this book, the full irony of that accusation became clear. Seumas Milne revealed for the first time the astonishing lengths to which the government and its intelligence machine were prepared to go to destroy the power of Britain’s miners’ union. There was an enemy within. It was the secret services of the British state, operating inside the NUM itself. Milne revealed for the first time the astonishing lengths to which the government and its intelligence machine were prepared to go to destroy the power of Britain’s miners’ union. Using phoney bank deposits, staged cash drops, forged documents, agents provocateurs and unrelenting surveillance, M15 and police Special Branch set out to discredit Scargill and other miners’ leaders. Planted tales of corruption were seized on by the media and both Tory and Labour politicians in what became an unprecedentedly savage smear campaign. In this new edition, published for the twentieth anniversary of Britain’s most important postwar social confrontation, new material brings the story up to date – and, in the wake of the Iraq war intelligence scandals, highlights the continuing threat posed by the security services to democracy today.
Labour MPs call for inquiry into role of ‘miners’ MI5 agent’ LABOUR MPs have called for an inquiry into allegations that the former National Union of Mineworkers’ chief executive, Mr Roger Windsor, was an MI5 agent during the 1984-85 miners’ strike. The accusation that Mr Windsor was a security service agent working for Mrs Stella Rimington, now the MI5 director-general, is made in a House of Commons motion proposed by Linlithgow MP Tam Dalyell and Labour colleague, Mr George Galloway, MP for Glasgow Hillhead. The claim is backed by four other Labour MPs, including Mr Jimmy Hood, the member for Clydesdale. Mr Windsor, who now lives in the south of France, was the author of false allegations of corruption against the NUM leader, Mr Arthur Scargill. His allegations formed the basis of a series of articles in the Daily Mirror newspaper. The Labour MPs allege that when Mr Windsor accused Mr Scargill of financial impropriety involving NUM funds he did so while working under the ”guidance” of Mrs Rimington. At the time of the strike Mrs Rimington, who last week became the first security service chief to appear in public, was head of MI5’s F2 Branch which was responsible for monitoring subversion in the trade union movement. Mr Dalyell, who has been a long-term critic of MI5 for the role he says it played in the strike, said he was unwilling to go beyond the terms of the Commons’ motion, which was lodged under parliamentary privilege. However, Mr Galloway said that they had decided to proceed with the motion on the basis of additional information supplied by highly placed and reliable sources. ”We have been given more information on the exact role that MI5 and Stella Rimington played during the miners’ strike. We were also influenced by last week’s cosmetic publicity jamboree when Mrs Rimington was paraded for the media and the public as just another civil servant,” he said. ”The fact of the matter is that she was in charge of F2 at the time of the strike and that organisation was responsible for massive interference and destabilisation which saw the NUM, the trade union movement’s Brigade of Guards, brought to its knees. This has led ultimately, and even more importantly, to the British mining industry being destroyed for political ends.”
‘Tabloids on Trial’ ITV documentary – Hugh Grant on journalists breaking in to his flat – dark arts of some newspapers. ITV put the ‘Tabloids On Trial’ – The public figures appear alongside hacking victim Paul Dadge who came to prominence for his role helping the wounded in the 7/7 terror attacks. All speak to ITV News’ Rebecca Barry who has reported on the hacking scandal for more than a decade. Gordon Brown, who was Prime Minister between 2007 and 2010, tells the programme he believes some of his personal information – including bank accounts were illegally accessed by News Group Newspapers while he was in senior government positions: “My bank account was broken into, my building society account was broken into, my gas bill, my electricity bill, my telecommunications bill. I know that they tried to get information from the police computer about me. All these things happened to me during the period I was Chancellor and Prime Minister.” Mr Brown has made accusations against News Group Newspapers of the unlawful information gathering since he gave evidence to the Leveson inquiry in 2011/12. It is strongly denied by the newspaper group. In the programme, Hugh Grant speaks for the first time since he settled his unlawful information-gathering claim with the parent company of The Sun and now defunct News of the World – he talks about a burglary at his flat that he suspected had been commissioned by The Sun, in the new ITV1 documentary. Speaking in an interview with ITV News’s Rebecca Barry, the actor and campaigner describes the burglary and says he remains ‘bitter and determined to exact justice’ on those in the tabloid industry who he believes commissioned unlawful information gathering. Mr Grant reached a settlement with News Group Newspapers, which publishes The Sun, earlier in the year, the newspaper group settled the claim but did not admit liability. In the interview Mr Grant tells Rebecca: “So in the case of my flat burglary, yeah it was quite spectacular, in that the whole door had been taken off its hinges. It’s a big walk up, like four floors up, and yes, they’d been through the flat and nothing was stolen. They’d been there to get information. And a lot of information about the interior and the contents of my flat appeared in newspapers a couple of days later and there’s never been a burglary before or since.”
Kevin Cahill on how News of the World paid £100,000 a week in bribes to the Metropolitan Police, both for stories and as ‘protection money’. News of the World paid bribes worth £100,000 A WEEK (according to former News International journalist Kevin Cahill) to up to five Met officers Cash total said to have shocked Metropolitan police as IPCC vows to oversee Scotland Yard corruption inquiry Investigators inside Scotland Yard are trying to identify up to five officers who were paid between them a total of at least £100,000 in cash from the News of the World, the Guardian understands. Documents sent to the police by News International did not name those involved but contained pseudonyms which investigators within the Yard are trying to match with individual officers. The revelation comes a day after Sir Paul Stephenson, commissioner of the Metropolitan police, said that the amounts involved had been paid to a small number of officers. News that officers were allegedly paid so much in bribes has caused shock and concern within Scotland Yard, where the directorate of professional standards is now investigating the matter. There have been calls for an external force to be brought in to investigate the scandal – Boris Johnson, the mayor of London, has said someone else should wash the Met’s dirty linen in public. After concerns were raised that the Met was being left to investigate itself, the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) announced on Thursday it would be overseeing the initial Met inquiry and could take over the investigation later once the names of the officers had been established. The IPCC had wanted to hold back until the Met had identified the officers involved, but the growing pressure for an external authority to be involved led to Deborah Glass, deputy chair of the IPCC, announcing she would be personally overseeing the Met’s inquiry. The amounts of money involved are likely to have forced the IPCC’s hand to get involved sooner rather than later. The Guardian understands three to five police officers, who are not of senior rank but include detectives, will be the focus of the inquiry. Documents sent to the police on 20 June by News International did not give many clues as to the identity of those who reportedly received payments for information. All the payments are understood to have taken place in 2003, the year Rebekah Brooks handed editorship of the News of the World to Andy Coulson. Ismael Haniyeh, Hamas leader, killed in Tehran. Barbara Woodward on Gaza and 2 state solution. UN Security Council emergency meeting – Chinese UNSC Ambassador. Patrick Henningsen ….. UN Security Council members fear all-out war after Haniyeh killing in Iran Palestine urges world not to let Israel ‘drag us all to the abyss’ while Iran pledges to respond decisively to Hamas leader’s death in Tehran. Countries of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) have condemned the assassination of Hamas’s political chief Ismail Haniyeh in Iran and called for stepped-up diplomatic efforts to prevent an all-out war in the Middle East. The UNSC’s emergency meeting on Wednesday came as Iran and Hamas – the Palestinian group that governs the war-torn Gaza Strip – blamed Israel for Haniyeh’s death and pledged to seek revenge. Israel has not admitted responsibility for the attack in Tehran. Haniyeh’s assassination occurred less than 24 hours after Israel killed Hezbollah’s most senior military commander Fuad Shukr in an air raid on the Lebanese capital, Beirut. Israel claimed the attack was in retaliation for a rocket assault that killed 12 children and young people from the Arab Druze community in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. At the UNSC meeting, Palestine said the global community must stop Israel from dragging the Middle East into the “abyss”, while China, Russia and Algeria condemned Haniyeh’s assassination. The United States, United Kingdom and France raised what they said was Iranian support for destabilising actors in the region, while Japan said it feared an all-out war in the Middle East.
Gideon Levy, Israeli Jew – Netanyahu’s end game. Ismail Haniyeh assassination inTehran: Israel is following Netanyahu ‘blindly’ into the abyss Two assassinations. Two capital cities. Less than 24 hours. One struck an apartment in downtown Beirut, killing a woman and two children – targeting a Hezbollah senior commander. Then just hours later, a strike in the heart of Tehran, assassinating Hamas’s most high-profile figure, and its political chief – Ismail Haniyeh. Israel has claimed the first attack, though not the second – at least not yet – but the repercussions are already starting to be felt – as are fears that we’re barreling towards an inevitable regional war – one that could spiral quickly out of control. This week on The Big Picture Podcast, we sit down with award-winning Israeli journalist and author Gideon Levy about the significance of the two high-profile assassinations. Haniyeh’s killing, in particular, threatens to derail the already fragile ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas, which have so far failed to put an end to a horrific 10-month war that has killed more than 39,000 Palestinians and 1200 Israelis. It also pushes the United States deeper into a corner. The Biden administration has failed to pull Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from the brink but continues to supply him with weapons used against a civilian population in Gaza while undermining attempts to hold Israel to account internationally. Now less than 100 days before an election that could return Trump to the White House – Can the US really afford to follow Israel into a war with Hezbollah – and possibly – a war with Iran?
Israeli IDF – right to rape. Israel: far-right protestors storm IDF detention building for the right to rape Unbelievable scenes Far-right Israelis have protested the arrest of IDF soldiers for the alleged gang rape and abuse of a Palestinian detainee. Protestors stormed Israel’s Sde Teiman detention facility, where Israeli police had arrested nine soldiers. Israeli police took the soldiers to the Beit Lid military base, which also saw demonstrations. The protestors included reservist soldiers. But also far-right government minister Amichai Eliyahu and parliamentarian Zvi Sukkot of the Religious Zionist movement took part. The Palestinian detainee was taken to hospital, where “his injuries included a ruptured intestine, severe injury to the anus and lungs, and broken ribs”, according to Israeli outelt Israeli minister of economy Nir Barkat called the arrests a “despicable show trial” and the soldiers “brave warriors”. Finance minister Bezalel Smotrich also called for the “heroic warriors” to be free. The Israeli organisation Breaking the Silence had a different approach. It said the protests were “essentially issuing a full-throated endorsement of unimaginably brutal abuse of Palestinians”. The organisation continued, stating Palestinian detainees face “indefinite restraints resulting in amputations; medical procedures with no anesthesia; sleep deprivation; brutal beatings; sexual torture”. BOOK AND TALK OF THE WEEK: Jacob Nordangard – Rockefeller Funding and Controlling the Game (2024) ‘Rockefellers: Funding and Controlling the Game’ book ….. Population. We’ve all heard about Big Oil and their alleged part in Climate Change Politics. But you’d be surprised if you knew what happens behind the scenes. Jacob Nordangård – Author and researcher Jacob Nordangård follows the family from the founding of Standard Oil and the Rockefeller Foundation, up through the aftermath of the Paris Agreement, with the declaration of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in January 2016, to the present day. Nordangård’s in-depth research includes the large quantities of new material recently made available on the Internet, as well as the Rockefeller Foundation’s own annual reports. Nordangård’s main focus is the Rockefeller family’s involvement in climate research and politics, but the actions and motives of some of their allies are also explored, as well as the family’s influence on the development of modern medicine, family planning, agriculture, art, architecture, behavioral science, information technology, and politics. The Rockefeller family’s utopian dream of a perfect world will have serious consequences for the survival of the human species and life as we know it. The Rockefeller Foundation’s stated mission to “promote the well-being of humanity throughout the world” has a dark flipside, as, Nordangård will prove, the Rockefeller family’s long-standing battle against climate change contains elements of sophisticated propaganda techniques, futurism, and New Age philosophy, aiming at a complete transformation of the whole earth system, including economy, ecology, culture, and even humanity itself. Russell Brand on Olympics Opening Ceremony – last supper recreation. Russell Brand slams Olympics opening ceremony ‘decadence,’ shares favourite Bible verse Comedian Russell Brand spoke out against the recent controversial Olympics opening ceremony and shared one of his favorite Bible verses in recent social media posts. “There are times that I’ve told you when I felt far from Christ,” Brand said in a video he posted to Instagram on Wednesday. “This is the verse that brought me back into connection with our Lord.” Brand went on to read Isaiah 43:1, which reads: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.” “My feelings of faith have altered lately, because I’ve had the sense that through fear I might take back my self-will, that I might through fear think I have to be in control of the situation,” Brand said. “If you feel that you’re being attacked, if you are under threat, it seems obvious, rational, sensible to take back control.” Brand went on to explain that he has found a new freedom in surrendering to Christ in faith and relinquishing his desire for control, which he said is not a concept he understood before becoming a Christian. “But the sensation of faith — allowing Christ in His sub-molecular potency, right down to the granular, right out into the cosmological to order all things for we are dealing with the King of eternity,” he said. “And this is something I never understood before I was a Christian, but you are stepping out of the cubic reality afforded to you by materialism and rationalism and into a transcendent realm where you are given grace — where, once I’ve accepted sin, and surrendered, and allowed Him to carry me, I’m granted a new freedom.
