He also proved to be a forceful minister of labour and national service during World War II and foreign secretary in the immediate postwar period. Bevin (who lived at 39, Saxon Road, St Pauls) was reared in a poor family and left school at the age of 11. After holding a series of jobs, he found regular employment on a mineral-water delivery route in Bristol. In 1905 he became the unpaid secretary of the Bristol Right to Work Committee, and in 1910 he formed a carters’ branch of the Dockers’ Union in that city. By the end of World War I he was functioning as the union’s assistant general secretary, though the post was not formally created until May 1920. In 1921 he amalgamated several unions into the Transport and General Workers’ Union, of which he was general secretary until 1940 and which became the largest trade union in the world. From 1925 he was a member of the general council of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) and in 1937 was elected its chairman. He was prominent in organizing the British general strike of May 3–12, 1926, and was also instrumental in settling it. During the early years of the Great Depression, he criticized Ramsay MacDonald’s second Labour Party government (1929–31) for failing to enact radical measures to relieve unemployment, and he refused to support MacDonald’s national coalition ministry (1931–35). Through the 1930s he advocated British rearmament and a firm foreign policy to counteract the growing threat of Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy. In May 1940, when Winston Churchill formed his wartime coalition government, Bevin was appointed minister of labour and national service and was included in the War Cabinet.

Joe Banks III: The fake community group allied to property speculators ‘Friends of Castle Park’ Westbury produced and presented the planning report for the controversial “monolithic blocks” on St Mary-le-Port at Castle Park. An application granted by councillors in December 2021. This has now been referred to the Planning Inspectorate by Bristol Civic Society for a public enquiry. One concern is that Westbury’s report and the public forum at the planning meeting included the support of the ‘Friends of Castle Park’. However, it transpires that the support of the ‘Friends of Castle Park’ is actually the support of one person, Russ Leith. The self appointed moderator and “leader” of a ‘Friends of Castle Park Facebook group, he provided an ‘analysis’ of comments on his Facebook page to Westbury that allege public support for the application. Word out of Bristol City council’s planning department is that Westbury, who also happens to be an elder at the Reverend Rees’s church, The Hope in Hotwells – enjoys a very poor reputation among planning colleagues. “Can’t administer policy for toffee, we’ve been told and “he’s the patsy they put on any scheme the mayor wants to go through.”

Aileen Getty, who lives in the United States, is bankrolling an organisation that has given money to Just Stop Oil as it creates havoc with its demonstrations demanding an end to the issuing of new oil and gas exploration licences by the British Government. The 65-year-old’s money is funnelled to protesters in the UK through the Climate Emergency Fund (CEF), a US non-profit that gives grants and funds to activists around the world. This has sparked accusations from one MP that ‘foreign millionaires’ are funding eco-mobs ‘to do their dirty work without any intention of coming out of the shadows and exposing themselves to democratic accountability’. To date Ms Getty has thought to have given more than £800,000 ($1million) of her own money to the organisation, which has also counts Hollywood director Adam McKay among its supporters. The CEF in turn has given out more than £6million to groups such as Extinction Rebellion and Just Stop Oil, the latter of which have caused havoc in the UK in recent months. The protest group’s disruptive tactics have provoked outrage, with activists forcing the closure of the Dartford Bridge for one-and-a-half days, blocking multiple roads in the capital and throwing soup on Vincent Van Gogh’s ‘Sunflowers’ all in the last week. Earlier today it took part in its 20th consecutive day of action, with supporters spraying the outside of Harrods department store in central London with soup, as well as sitting down in the road to block traffic. Ms Getty is the granddaughter of J Paul Getty, an oil tycoon who was at one time the world’s richest man, and one MP are questioning how a ‘foreign millionaire’ is allowed to have such an influence, the Telegraph reports. Supporters of Just Stop Oil have caused havoc, including forcing the closure of the Dartford Bridge for one-and-a-half days when two scaled the structure this week She has been a prominent voice on social issues over the last few decades having campaigned over homelessness and climate change, as well as AIDS awareness having being diagnosed with HIV in the 1980s and was once photographed with Princess Diana at a clinic in London. The mother-of-two was formerly married to Christopher Wilding, the son of actress Elizabeth Taylor, and has never been directly involved with the fossil fuel industry herself, while the Getty family left the oil trade in the 2000s. However, her involvement sparked Tim Loughton, a former minister and member of the Home Affairs Committee, to tell the Telegraph: ‘It is bad enough that these arrogant self-entitled individuals think they have some right to disrupt the lives of our hard-working law-abiding constituents. ‘It adds insult to injury that foreign millionaires are funding them to do their dirty work without any intention of coming out of the shadows and exposing themselves to democratic accountability.’ There are questions over what the Government can actually do to stop this happening, with one unnamed MP telling the paper: ‘There may be some old obscure law around treason for accepting funds from foreign interests intent on harming the British state.’ In 2019 Ms Getty donated $500,000 to climate activists Extinction Rebellion claiming that ‘disruption’ is needed for there to be action. She said: ‘Whether the resources I have come from oil or not, I feel an urgency and it’s a privilege to give whatever resources you have.’

Most of the consumption was driven by the US and Europe.” We are, Thunberg says “sawing off the branch we’re living on”. More than 12,000 Albanians have arrived in the UK so far this year – around 10,000 of whom are understood to be young single men. Out of those who claim asylum, only 12 per cent are successful – one of the lowest rates of any nationality. However, the number of Albanian migrants claiming to be victims of modern slavery is set to double this year to 5,000. Out of 4,171 modern slavery victims who were referred to the Home Office in the second quarter of the year, 27 per cent were Albanian – the highest of any nationality. The Modern Slavery Act was introduced by Theresa May in 2015 when she was home secretary to protect victims of people trafficking gangs, but ministers it is severely flawed. Immigration minister Robert Jenrick told the Telegraph that Albanians were ‘abusing’ the act and delaying deportation attempts. One of the issues with the legislation, critics say, is its open definition of what constitutes modern slavery. Arrivals can successfully claim asylum just by saying they are victims of slavery, even with no supporting evidence. The journey Albanians take to the UK often begins in poorer areas like the city of Kukes in the north east of the country. Human smugglers charge between £3,500 and £15,000 per person and advertise their services on TikTok, with dozens of videos showing Albanians making the crossing.
Government spending £6.8 million a day on housing asylum seekers in hotels The Government is spending almost £7 million a day housing asylum seekers in hotels and the cost could continue to rise, MPs heard. The Commons Home Affairs Committee was told £5.6 million a day was being spent on hotels for people who have arrived in the UK and have submitted a claim, with an additional £1.2 million paid to house Afghan refugees who fled the Taliban takeover while long-term accommodation is sought. The total £6.8 million is over £2 million more than the Government said it was spending in February (£4.7 million). Asked by committee chairwoman Dame Diana Johnson if the cost was likely to go up again, Abi Tierney, director general of the passport office and UK visas and immigration, replied: “Yes.” During the wide-ranging session, MPs also learned: – The Home Office has only processed 4% of asylum claims by migrants who crossed the Channel last year. Of that, 85% were granted refugee status or another protection status. – Officials admitted the interception rate made by French police of migrants attempting the journey has fallen. – Some 12,000 Albanians have arrived in the UK after crossing the Channel so far this year, of which 10,000 are single, adult men. This is compared to 50 in 2020. – The number of migrants being held at the Manston Airport short-term holding facility in Kent while they are processed is “outstripping” capacity and some are staying there for as long as a month, compared to the 24 hours intended. Dan Hobbs, director of asylum, protection and enforcement, said there is a “challenge in processing asylum claims in a timely way at present” and confirmed only a “small proportion” of last year’s arrivals have been granted asylum. The cost of the UK’s asylum system has topped £2 billion a year, with the highest number of claims for two decades and record delays for people awaiting a decision. Clandestine Channel threat commander Dan O’Mahoney told the committee in 2021 the interception rate for French police stopping migrants trying to cross the Channel was 50% and this year it has dropped to 42.5%. He accepted this was a lower percentage but stressed it was a “much, much bigger number”, telling how French authorities had stopped 28,000 migrants crossing the Channel and intercepted and destroyed 1,072 boats so far this year.

Seven men and four women are facing a 14-page indictment listing 43 different charges on alleged crimes that happened between January 2010 and March 2020 at various addresses in Glasgow. The accusations involve multiple young children, but mainly centre around two girls and a boy. Some charges claim the alleged victims were forced to take part in satanic “seances” where they were told they were drinking blood and eating a heart. High Court GlasgowJudge Lord Beckett set an eight-week trial at the High Court in Glasgow for September next year (Jane Barlow/PA) It is claimed they were made to kill animals and made to use a ouija board, or similar object, “to call on spirits and demons”. One of the young girls was said to have been shut in a microwave, a fridge, an oven and a freezer in an attempt to kill her. There are also claims members of the group “did clap, cheer and verbally encourage” as well as video record the children being sexually abused. Iain Owens, 44, Elaine Lannery, 38, Lesley Williams, 41, Paul Brannan, 40, Marianne Gallagher, 38, Scott Forbes, 49, Barry Watson, 46, Mark Carr, 49, Richard Gachagan, 45, Leona Laing, 50, and John Clark, 46, deny the charges they face. Maureen Goudie, Steven McHendrie, Robert Brown, James McLean and Douglas Gachagan are also mentioned as being involved in a number of the charges, but court papers said they are now deceased. At a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow on Monday, Judge Lord Beckett described the case as “a unique situation”. Members of the group are accused of getting the young boy to “courier controlled drugs” on their behalf. The second charge is against 10 members of the group, apart from Forbes, who have been accused of assaulting one of the girls over half a decade from when she was six years old. This included drugging her, running a wheelchair into her legs, putting a black plastic bag over her head, and forcing her to eat cat food. It is then said Owens, Lannery, Williams, Brannan and Gallagher assaulted the young boy. They are accused of holding his head under liquid in a bath which they told him was blood. Owens, Lannery, Williams, Brennan and Clare are then accused of attempting to murder the younger of the two girl victims. The charge states between 2015 and 2019, they forced her to act like a dog and to eat cat and dog food and frozen food. The group are said to have chased her “wearing a mask of the devil”, and hung her by her jumper from a nail on the wall. The charge then claims the girl was pushed inside a microwave, an oven, a fridge, a freezer and various cupboards, including one with an electricity metre. The group are then accused of trapping her inside these places, in an attempt to kill her. Court documents claim all 11 members wore cloaks and devil horns and got the children involved in “witchcraft”, leading them to believe that they themselves had “metamorphosed into animals”.

Whistleblower Dr Sam White explains why he spoke out against the mass Covid injection program – Dr Sam White has been a GP for over a decade. He was a partner in a GP practice when the alleged pandemic was declared by the WHO in early 2020. It wasn’t long after that Dr White found much of what was being reported about Covid-19 and the measures being introduced to “combat” the spread to be spurious. When the Covid injections were launched in record time at the end of 2020, Dr White became concerned that these new, experimental mRNA shots posed a far greater risk to the public than the government and regulators were letting on. He decided to blow the whistle on the safety of the jabs, informed consent and measures being taken to reduce the spread of the virus, by speaking to the alternative media. This led to a gagging order being imposed by the GMC banning Dr White from speaking to the media about anything Covid related. In addition he found himself suspended and his mental health being questioned. Thankfully Dr White won an appeal in the High Court where his suspension and gagging order were both lifted, nonetheless he has continued to be harassed and harangued by the authorities through various means. Catching a train from Shanghai to Beijing used to be a very easy thing to do. The high-speed rail network here is impressive, the two open and international cities very well linked. But times are still not ‘normal’ here, and that journey is now something of an undertaking. We made the trip this week, arriving into Beijing during the 20th Party Congress of the ruling Chinese Communist Party. It’s a once every five year political meeting to choose the country’s top leaders. If it’s the ‘Zero COVID’ agenda that dictates much of why things are so complicated, Congress has turbocharged it. In order to simply board a train in Shanghai, we needed three so-called ‘green codes’ from three separate apps. Getting those required multiple tests, minimal contacts and a massive amount of uncertainty. Helen-Ann Smith reports on China's Zero Civid policyGreen codes are essentially digitised proof you most likely don’t have COVID – we needed one from the Shanghai authorities, one from the Beijing authorities and a third so-called ‘green arrow’. But simply testing negative isn’t always enough, people’s codes can change colour simply for travelling from another district or province where cases have been detected. In short, travelling to Beijing felt a bit like trying to get into a digitised fortress. It’s a snapshot of how Zero COVID is still dictating the lives of ordinary people. In most places, you have to have a green code to be allowed to do pretty much anything; enter shops, restaurants, parks and playgrounds, even housing and office compounds. It means people need a COVID-19 test at least every 2-3 days, testing centres can be found on street corners everywhere. While people are largely resigned to it, there are clear hints of frustration. One woman told me how she’s not been able to visit her home town for over a year, she’s too worried she’ll have to quarantine on returning home and disrupt her child’s schooling. Everyone I spoke to said they would ideally like things to return to how they were. In some places, though, tempers are fraying and patience is wearing thin. A few weeks ago in the province of Shenzhen, a group of people under lockdown clashed violently with those trying to enforce it. There have been rare instances of graffiti calling for an end to the rules. And speaking out is very brave; criticising the Zero COVID agenda is seen as akin to criticising the government. President Xi Jinping made it clear in a speech opening Congress that, for now at least, the policy is here to stay. Saving lives, he says, must come first.
As China doubles down on ‘Zero-Covid’ some have had enough The digital tools used to tackle the virus are intruding deeply into people’s lives, but there is no sign that Beijing will relax the rules. Thousands of residents in central China had used social media to organise a protest outside a bank in Zhengzhou. Many had been unable to access their bank deposits at the city’s Yu Zhou Xin Min Sheng Village Bank since April with the bank claiming that the problem was due to “system upgrades”. Fed up with months of excuses, the depositors planned to protest in front of the bank’s headquarters. But the day before, thousands of depositors suddenly found their smartphones buzzing and the health codes on their compulsory COVID-19 apps turning from green to red. Colour changes usually happen when the holder has visited a COVID-19-infected area or been designated a close contact with someone with the virus, and it means that the individual must quarantine immediately. The red codes raised eyebrows. There had not been a registered COVID-19 outbreak in the province, and the health codes of the family members who accompanied the many depositors to the protest remained green. Beijing has said technology such as the app and wristband are crucial to its zero-COVID strategy and its commitment to stamping out the virus, but the red health codes in Zhengzhou and the electronic wristbands in Beijing have contributed to growing scepticism about the government’s motives. Everything is wide open. – Spy agencies with billion dollar budgets have coders in all leading tech companies implementing backdoors. It’s impossible to keep them secret. Competing agencies, cyber criminals and security analysts find them. That’s why you constantly have to install new security patches. – I understand exactly how all of this works and when the NSA cooperated with their New Zealand partner agency GCSB to spy on my devices (in a copyright case) I caught them, exposed them, took them to court, forced a change of the law and the Prime Minister had to apologize to me. – When I’m sharing spy stuff with you I’m not wasting your time like the 50 American spy chiefs who got their presstitutes to tell you lies about the Hunter Biden laptop being Russian disinformation or that Russia hacked the DNC and gave the @HillaryClinton data to Wikileaks.

Not only that, but that very contractor once created a plan challenging the WikiLeaks threat, a plan that displays some frightening similarities to current efforts to silence or discredit the organization and its famous editor. Thiel, after Trumps inauguration, was nearly appointed chairman of the Presidents Intelligence Advisory Board, until Thiel withdrew his name. While it claims to have pre-Christian roots, O9A’s modern iteration originated in the early 1970s, when British nazi David Myatt, using the alias Anton Long, developed a system that intertwined elements of Satanism, paganism and Nazism into a bizarre pseudo-religious political cult. In brief, O9A seeks to harness supernatural forces and overthrow the alleged “Nazarene/Magian” (Jewish) influence on society, reduce the population of “mundanes” through acts of extreme barbarism, and usher in a new imperial aeon (age) ruled by a race of Satanic supermen who would colonise the solar system. Such notions are patently absurd, but as Jacob C. Senholt of the University of Aarhus claims, unlike many Satanic creeds, O9A is inherently intertwined with extreme politics, and is bent on subverting and destabilising society through both “magick” and practical action. There is a deeply transgressive spirit and a very real cruelty at the core of O9A, which encourages acolytes to engage in forbidden and illegal acts, including extreme violence, sexual assault, assassinations and human sacrifices (or “culling”). Doing so supposedly enables contact with sinister supernatural forces, and accelerates the breakdown of the current system. In The Dreccian Way, leading O9A figure Richard Moult (AKA Christos Beest) writes: “To cull humans is to be the ONA.” O9A is organised into “nexions” (chapters), and climbing O9A’s hierarchy requires founding and leading one’s own nexion. Groups resembling O9A are known to have been founded in mainland Europe, the US and New Zealand, but as Senholt writes, it is difficult to ascertain which of these groups “are merely inspired by O9A, sharing their ethos, and which groups are a direct result of an initiate’s work within the order”. The group’s hierarchy also requires followers to undertake “insight roles”, which means spending a minimum of six months infiltrating and subverting other organisations or religions in order to gain new experience, thereby strengthening O9A. The O9A work Hostia directs initiates to: “Undertake the role of extreme political activist and so champion heretical views (by e.g. becoming involved in extreme Right- Wing activism)”, or alternatively to join the police.

In an interview with the Guardian in April, Dallali said of the controversy: It genuinely is really difficult to have to see these horrible things being said about me. They are not true. This idea that I dont like Jewish people, or Im hateful towards the Jewish community, is absolutely not true. Dallali said she had received Islamaphobic and racist online abuse, including death threats, after the allegations came to light.
Attempt to kill Pakistan’s legitimately elected Prime Minister Imran Khan – On Thursday, Pakistan’s Ministry of Information released a video of a confession from an unnamed man who it claims carried out the attack. In the video, the man says he “wanted to kill Imran Khan” because he “was misleading people,” adding he had no accomplices. “They (Khan’s rallies) were playing music and shouting from the loudspeakers as the call for prayer was happening. I didn’t like this happening on our soil,” the man says in the video, purportedly regarding his intentions. CNN cannot verify the circumstances under which the video was taken and is therefore not showing it. At least one person was killed in the incident, according to Faisal Javed, a senior PTI politician and close Khan ally who received a wound to the head in the attack. The victim’s name has not been released. In a video statement Javed, who can be seen sitting up while receiving treatment, said: “Please pray for us, for Imran Khan, pray for our fellow workers who are severely injured and pray for our party member who has died and is martyred.”

Five countries – Canada, Israel, Micronesia, Palau and the United States – opposed the resolution on Friday over the “risk of nuclear proliferation in the Middle East.” Twenty-four other countries abstained, including members of the European Union. The resolution, submitted by Egypt, was sponsored by the Palestinian Authority and 19 countries, including Bahrain, Jordan, Morocco and the United Arab Emirates. Egypt’s text focuses on Israel as one of the nine countries believed to possess nuclear weapons, which the Jewish state has never officially acknowledged.The results of a General Assembly vote on a resolution is shown on a screen during a special session of the General Assembly at the United Nations headquarters in New York City, United States. The resolution notes that Israel is the only country in the Middle East and one of the few among the 193 UN member states not to have signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). It further calls on the Jewish state “to accede to the Treaty without further delay, not to develop, produce, test or otherwise acquire nuclear weapons, to renounce possession of nuclear weapons, and to place all of its unsafeguarded nuclear facilities under full-scope Agency safeguards as an important confidence-building measure among all states in the region and as a step towards strengthening peace and security.” In a debate on the issue earlier this month, Israeli envoy to the UN Michal Maayan said the NPT is only relevant as long as it is respected and is not a remedy for the “unique security challenges” of the Middle East.
