The New York Times was upset that the Chinese torch-bearer, Dinigeer Yilamujiang, is a female Uyghur and cross-country skier from Xinjiang.
She lived in Norway for a couple of years for training, and then returned to China. Why would she return if there was a genocide?
There is also a US citizen competing for China, Eileen Gu. She decided to compete for China to help promote her sport there, where it is underplayed. Her family in the US has been subject to a lot of complaints. But the US regularly recruits players from other countries to stand in international competitions.
