Approximately a dozen National Nurses United nurses were masked and social distancing on scene, displaying a banner with pictures of home made protective gear; speakers explain. They were joined by two transit union workers who daily bring patients to and from the hospital, exposing themselves, families and riders to potential COVID-19 exposure due to hospital management's failure to follow CDC testing policy and provision of level appropriate protective equipment. A nurse states management tried to bully her into using sub standard protective gear that the doctors refuse to wear.

Details of PR Release: Tomorrow Evening At 8 PM Chicago,IL-To protest the lack of personal protective equipment and the high number of COVID-19 infections among nurses, registered nurses at John H. Stroger Hospital will hold an action and media availability during their shift change, announced National Nurses United (NNU)today.
Nurses and other staff are being denied hair covers, shoe covers, and isolation gowns that are designed to protect against viral infection. Cook County Health and Hospital System is failing to systematically screen staff for COVID-19 symptoms at the beginning and end of their shifts, which is a practice required by the Chicago Department of Public Health. Nurses are demanding personal protective equipment that is designed to protect against viral infections and that the Cook County Health and Hospital System comply with the directives of the Chicago Department of Health.
