James Garrett is a veteran regional journalist based in Bristol for many years- in 2016 he was interviewed for a programme about investigative journalism but only a short extract was used in that show - here is the full interview including brief discussion about James documentaries on the Society of Merchant Venturers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVAq1YRK0RI and Gloucestershire Freemasons https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4So_2AxYg4c

Ian Fraser is one of the only honest financial journalists in the country and here he discusses the appointment of a new Bank of England governor, Andrew Bailey. Officially the chancelloer, Sajid Javid recommends someone to the queen who makes the actual appointment but these days such appointments are fixed up through recommendations.
Here are some of the serious frauds in which Andrew Bailey has been complicit as CEO of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)
2009-2013 - RBS Global Restructuring Group (GRG) - destroyed 16,000 UK Businesses
2009-2019 Lloyds Business Support Unit (BSU) - £1 billion fraud
March 2019 - London Capital and Finance (LCF) - £236m fraud
June 2019 - Hargreaves Lansdown recommended - Neil Woodford Fund - up to £2 billion fraud
Ian is particularly scating about Andrew Baileys role when fraud has been proven and banks then simply get fined, which is no punishment whatever for the directors and executives behind the fraud, in fact, he argues, it actually encourages yet more sophisticated and greater frauds
