From JAPAN- The US ended waivers that allowed 7 countries including Japan to import oil from Iran without facing US sanctions. At the UN countries who signed the nuclear non-proliferation treaty are divided on how to move forward in the face of US and Russian tensions. The Spanish Prime Minister declared victory in last weekends election, vowing a pro-EU government despite the rise of the far-right party Vox.

From CUBA- Cuban President Diaz-Canal says the US is lying about Cuban troops and agents in Venezuela, while pointing out that the US has 800 military bases in 177 countries around the world. Venezuelan military leaders say they stand firm in support of democratically elected President Maduro. Maduro addressed the nation Tuesday night about the attempted coup. The Cuban president responded to Trump's threats of a further embargo and sanctions, reiterating that there are no Cuban military in Venezuela. Honduran police attacked thousands of civilians protesting the privatization of health and education services.

From RUSSIA- Afshin Rattansi and former mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, give a press review. They discuss the ever increasing death toll from the war on Yemen, and the impact the arms industry has on that. They also cover the Extinction Rebellion and the need to focus on renewable energy. A report says that US sanctions on Venezuela is responsible for tens of thousands of deaths, and a British court sentences Julian Assange to 50 weeks in jail.

From GERMANY- More on the sentencing of Julian Assange and his supporters in England. In Paris the annual May Day rally saw violence between the police and demonstrators with at least 200 people arrested.
