“Iran and the US: Eternal Enemies or Natural Partners?” That’s the name of a formal speaking event at MIT on February 17. The speaker was Stephen Kinzer, longtime journalist and author of some remarkable books. Kinzer’s thesis is that Iran should be regarded as a bona fide friend, not an enemy, of the United States. He explains why. Ample evidence shows this, including favors granted without even being asked. US leaders are the problem, starting with the Dulles brothers.

Last fall, Truth and Justice Radio aired Kinzer’s recent lecture based on his then-newest book The Brothers: John Foster Dulles, Allen Dulles, and Their Secret World War (archive.org/details/KinzerJun2014theDullesBrothers). By studying the lives of these two ruthless men who held the most powerful positions in the country for many years, Kinzer poses an answer to the question: Why does the United States behave as it does in the world? Before The Brothers, he wrote 6 books, including Overthrow and All the Shah’s Men.

We present this event on Truth and Justice Radio as a public service. We think TJR’s listeners will be dismayed, or at least baffled, by Kinzer’s seeming confidence in the future integrity of John Kerry and Barack Obama. It’s not part of his central thesis, so we let it pass without further comment.
Truth and Justice Radio airs Sundays 6-10am ET on WZBC 90.3FM, Newton, MA, streaming and archived for two weeks at wzbc.org; TJR's website is truthandjusticeradio.org; we hope you'll write to us at tjr@bluebottle.com if you rebroadcast our work, or have questions or comments.
