Recent publication of Einstein's travel diaries from the early 1920s has caused a stir because some of Einstein's words seem to indicate a prejudiced view of Asian societies.

But as Fred Jerome points out, Einstein actively opposed racism throughout his life and was in the forefront, with DuBois and Robeson, in fighting to end lynching in America. There is a cultural war around the memory of Einstein in which major media outlets work to hide Einstein's progressive work and socialist opinions.
