YouthSpeaksOut! is a 60 minute public affairs show on KZYX in Mendocino County, California.
Today's YouthSpeaksOut! the topic is "Rachel's Challenge." Laytonville High School hosted "Rachel's Challenge," an in-school presentation on violence, kindness, and compassion this week. Rachel Scott was the first person killed at Columbine High School and had written some remarkable essays about creating change in the years preceding her murder. "Rachel's Challenge" presents the students with insights into what creates violence in the schools and how to encourage compassion and kindness.
Most of the show today is students discussing how the topics related to them and their community, and their plans to institute social change. This YSO included some audio clips and did not have a call-in section.
