While we Americans were thumping our heads against the wall, pitying ourselves for allowing Donald Trump to become president (again, I’m giving him a year PLUG, new statement on his election will be posted during February via MAHOKA MWAKO Podcast), while we were engaged in this fantastic activity, the world continued on. In Davos, a brash young British politician took to the stage to call for a manifesto for change while the Keynote speaker, Chinese President Xi, delivered the speech I thought she was going to deliver. I don’t go into President Xi’s speech, though it is worth a listen because it more so than hers will rule the day. He spoke about the expansion of Globalization as a mechanism for equality (sound familiar), while hers was more a defense for Globalization (I know that sounds familiar). In addition to spending a half hour on that subject I included a couple short comments I recorded during the week and a few musical interludes before concluding the show.
