Recently the government of Nigeria has started to privatize its public electrify sector. Manitoba Hydro International, the wholly owned subsidiary of Manitoba Hydro
(A public utility) is taking part on the deal. Manitoba Hydro International has a three year management contract the Transmission company of Nigeria, to restructure and eventually sell the company to private investors.

This deal brings up a number of questions; what affect will the privatization have on Nigerians? Why is Manitoba Hydro getting involved? Should public companies get involved in privatization efforts around the world?
