Dona Nieto made national headlines in 2000 when she blockaded a logging truck bare breasted to protest the cutting of old growth redwood trees in Northern California. Half Naked, La Tigresa began citing poetry about the goddess and called on the loggers to worship mother earth.. She was in her 50's and gave new meaning to baby boomers reaching their middle ages. As a beat poet and performance artist, La Tigresa reclaims the divine feminine as a source of fire for environmental activism. And, she calls on others to join her cause.

Her latest book of poetry: Naked Sacred Earth Poems explores biosexuality, a term she has coined, as one's love for the environment in a sex positive way.

Journalist and KMEC show host, Christina Aanestad spoke with La Tigresa about her art, activism and feminism for Women's History Month.
Host, Jen Burnstad. Producer and interviewer, Christina Aanestad.
