The older archives (>10 years old) have been substantially recovered -- more than 23,800 files' worth -- and are now reachable through the search engine and via file download. Email here if you have any questions.
Your support is essential if the service is to continue, there are bandwidth bills to pay every month and failing disk drives to replace. Volunteers do the work, but disk drives and bandwidth are not free. We encourage you to contribute financially, even a dollar helps. Click here to donate.

2000-03-25: Radio4all.Net Network Outages

As you may have noticed the radio project has been mostly down for the past week and a half. We have been having some serious problems with our internet connection. We had switched to new internet provider a couple months ago -- ironicaly, we switched to this new provider for better service -- this switch has turned out to be a real mess. From my last conversation with David Josephson, the person who is graciously hosting radio4all.net on his line, the best course of action at this time is to move back to the old DSL service. This service wasn't 100% reliable, but it was a *hell* of a lot more reliable than our current serivce. Our connection to the internet is a DSL line, our experience with DSL has made it abundantly clear that DSL is not ready for prime time. Unfortunately, since we have no money to upgrade to a more reliable connection, like a T-1 or paying for co-location, we will be using DSL as our connection to the internet for some time to come.
